I believe while transitioning to the new roster limits, SEC is allowing 'designated student athletes' (athletes who would have been cut from the roster due to the House settlement) to remain on the roster and not count against limits for the remainder of their eligibility. It's a nice little loophole. Roster LimitsThis website lays out the new system in place, overseen by the College Sports Commission.

Even with Timo, #2 seems high

2025 Texas Volleyball - Locked and Reloaded
I agree, I'd say this match could go either way. Wisconsin has the talent to match us. They are a 3 seed because they were without their starting setter for much of the season and lost some matches they wouldn't lose today.

Do we know the nature or timetable involving the current injuries on the team - Crump, Preston, Judd?

Derivaux is a swiss army knife of a swimmer, ranking first in the 2027 class in 6 different events. She would have scored in 2 NCAA A finals with her high school sophomore times. She's probably Capitani's most esteemed recruit of her tenure, and rumors are a big NIL package was thrown her way to get her to Texas. She headlines a stellar 2027 class coming to Texas that also includes the #3 recruit Sadie Buckley, the class's best breaststroker Bianca Nwaizu and its best distance freestyler Daisy Collins

Bob Bowman gets his next star lined up with teenage swimming sensation Luka Mijatovic from California soft launching his commit to Texas today (HS class of 2027). Luka has rewritten the US age group record books, mainly in the mid-distance freestyle events. In fact as a 16 year old he's already faster than a few 17-18 age group records. He qualified for the the US world championships team this past summer, becoming the youngest male swimmer since Michael Phelps to do so.

Nebraska was the preseason heavy favorite and hasn't lost against a good schedule. They are incredibly deep - their B team could possibly make the final four.

Obviously Spears is in the conversation for NFOY. Is Stafford in contention for NPOY? Certainly 1st team AA if she keeps this up.

People lambasted Stanford for its 23 service errors, but these passing numbers explain why they served the way they did. Serving tough loses some points but also disrupts the opposing offense significantly.

Should be an interesting year! Our usual question mark, passing/defense, could be our greatest strength. Pin hitters will be solid if not spectacular. Season success probably boils down to 2 things: -Swindle - will she return to the form of the setter that brought us a natty 2 years ago? I'd hope with good passing this year she can shine, as she struggles most when running around the court scooping up shanks. -Will our young middle blockers show some improvement? They were strong recruits one upon a time but were meh last year even with Singletary's heavy arm. Texas has a history of developing MBs better than any other position

- Texas Softball 2025 - Second to no one.
Rankings are arbitrary and reductive, but calling Hannah Wells the #1 pitching recruit is a bit of a stretch? She's listed as #14 pitcher by On3, not even ranked in top 20 by Prep Softball - Texas Softball 2025 - Second to no one.
