which seems to me makes it all the less likely that he’s going to have a career that lives up to this: it’s basically an impossible bar to reach. it’d be like if someone was talking about some HS senior or some 17 year old euro hooper and said, “he won’t be jordan or lebron, but i think he can have a steph curry like career.” i don’t need to know who this guy is to be skeptical of such a claim.
he said that he could see this kam person having “a kevin hart like career”. i said, “i doubt it”, and gave some obvious reasons why. now two of you are in here being pissy about it. why?
the guy is an incredible self promoter, you’ve got to give him that. the guy has earned a reputation as a great leader and basketball coach based on this idea that he sells people that says he’s some sort of communication, bonding, harmony guru, when in reality he sucks as a coach and he’s alienated people everywhere he’s been. i mean just factually his list of accomplishments pales in comparison to literally everyone else on that list, and yet there he is, on the list. all because of the huckster guru speak and the way he sells himself. incredible.
if the entire rest of the league isn’t rooting for arsenal at this point then something is wrong. the entire rest of the league is just a vending machine for man city.
attitude and effort man. that’s what’s been the difference, and that’s what makes me feel like this doesn’t have to be a blip on the schedule, but something more substantive. we can control our attitude and effort, and as long as we bring it like we have the past two games then we’ll continue to be competitive.
mark’s effort vs tennessee had me ready to move on from him. i was laughing my ass off watching his performance last night, trying to make sense of how the same guy from the tennessee game could suddenly be this focused and aggressive. wish i could have been a fly on the wall during the tennessee game and the practices that followed. miller was losing me in large part because he seemed to have lost his team. they’ve responded to his tough coaching and honesty, and it’s refreshing to see.
a lot of. his most high percentage makes come when he’s moving almost in slow motion in the low block, using his strength and weight to clear out a defender and get an easy lay in. when he plays under control and to his literal and figurative strength he’s a handful.
