  1. I was going to post the obligatory "Fowler, Herbstreit and Bear" video but the news story video links have been deleted. I am sure one of you Surly's have it.
  2. Same here was 5' 11'' but with age I have shrunk 1/2 inch. Also, I don't feel tall at all.
  3. So in the summer of 83 or 84, my cousin who ended up being a walk on for Texas took me to Huston Tillotson to watch some fun pickup games. Back then, that was where area college players would run, and Johnny Moore was supposedly there that day playing summer pickup games. I was just on the sideline as a spectator. This woman comes in who was supposed to be a college player too and wanted to get in a game. The guys decided that this high school kid on the sideline should play so she could run with them. First time down the court, she was taller than me and drove right by me for a bucket. Then they made me point guard and she stole the ball and scored. Next time they made me bring it up, so I gave up the ball as soon as she approached. The guy I gave it to passed it right back to me and told me I would not get better if I did not try. It turned into a long, embarrassing game, and I think she went easy on me. So yeah, do not kid yourselves.
  4. This has been going on for years. A women in our organization at UT kept talking about her boyfriend that was 6 feet tall because that is what he told her and she could not stop bragging about it. When she introduced him to me he was shorter than me with dress shoes on and I had tennis shoes on. I remarked, weird I am only 5' 11' ' and so and so (Note: I don't remember her name) says you told her you are 6 feet tall.
  5. https://x.com/DanMurphyESPN/status/2017362939435528468I took the post by @nnm regarding the Sherman Act and asked chatgpt to comment on it and can of worms is an understatement. Lots of boring stuff but it did educate me some. Sherman Act stuff as it applies to college football
  6. Picking up schtick? I just quoted Js1's language. Folks are in offseason form.
  7. Well, you are talking about Cignetti and Sark as the difference in input factors. Cignetti’s teams are highly disciplined, while Sark’s are not. In the biggest moments, Cignetti made the right play calls, while Sark called vanilla plays. So yes, they can both do the same things, but one can end up with “god tier” results while the other ends up with “asswater” results. They are being graded on past performance, so can you really blame people for expecting “asswater” until they see something different from Sark?
  8. I did not say it was right. I only said it was easy to explain why people, including myself, complain about it.
  9. That is easy to answer, because regardless of overall performance, all we remember about special teams are the missed kicks and not being able to stop a fake punt that would have won us an SEC championship, and the onside kick that was the nail in the coffin in a game that buried our season this past year.
  10. The Baked or Old Fashion starts looking better the second time around.
  11. Back in the 1990s, a few large Silicon Valley companies said they recruited at several schools, but they only opened actual recruiting offices at Stanford and UT, and nowhere else. So this has been true for some time.
  12. So he is a yes man and he should be forgiven for being a yes man? Hell no that argument is even worse than being incompetent. Sark needs to get rid of him and bring someone in that will challenge his decisions on OL.
