I purchased a copy of the book after UT announced they acquired all of DFW's papers in 2010. I finished reading the book last year. I never did any research, or knew how common it was for people to quit 1/4 of the way in. Over the 15 years I had it, I quit reading it 3 times before committing to reading it last year. It was with me so long, I felt its absence when I finally finished! It was an amazing book and got better and better until the end where I was left wanting more (but that was the point - in fact you basically have to reread the first ~100 pages after finishing), but I was a philosophy major at UT and played competitive junior tennis, so your milage may vary. I am happy to discuss it with anyone, since no one I know IRL has read it, or really any interest in reading it.
Since this thread is more about story time than news. It’s my turn to tie together a few threads. I played darts with Kasey Studdard and Lyle Sendlein at Crown and Anchor a few times back in my day. The most memorable was when both of their dads were in town visiting. Their dads (both longhorn and NFL alums) proceeded to kick all of our asses in darts while also drinking us under the table. Fun times.
Taking SS might also direct some heat away from the Mike Green selection. I am sure they will use one of the 4 6th round picks on him if not one of their two 5th rounders.
True, they might get another OT/G to compete for the starting role with this last pic. That is the only 'weakness' remaining... well until they use one of their 4 6th round picks to grab a replacement for Tucker.
Ravens have 2 of the next 8 picks... I dunno if Shedeur will last to the 5th. It really will be an EDC move to pick him up and Lamar won't let him be a diva.
Baltimore gonna draft Shedeur just to trade him to the Browns for approx 10 draft picks next year after he looks good in relief for Lamar in a few games.
Everyone here hates Earl Thomas, from his brief time as a free agent... the only significant longhorn I can recall being drafted here is Sergio Kindle! Whoops on that one! If I recall correctly, he fell down the stairs blackout drunk and never recovered.
I heard rumors Justin cheated on his wife and that is why he was kicking so poorly this year, but I was not aware of the massage rumor at all. I have basically lived in Baltimore since 2013, so essentially the same time as Justin. I actually met him in 2013 at a local restaurant and stopped to chat about Texas Football, seemed like a nice guy!
Not sure what I am going to do with my Tucker jersey now... Ravens rarely ever draft any longhorns.. bah humbug
Old Shaggy poster here who apparently never created a new username with the switch over a few years back... I created an account to answer the question about the Baltimore Banner, but Deac Tracy said everything I would have said...
