  1. For the second part of my post, I want to rank the young core pieces on the Rockets in terms of trade value/asset quality: 1. Amen Thompson – This one should be universal among the fanbase: almost untouchable. I wouldn't include him in a deal for anyone outside of Jokic or Wemby—neither of which is happening. He CANNOT be moved this summer. Could he be the best player on a title team? He’s got a lot of work to do to get there, but the tools are there. At worst, he’s a top 2–3 player on a championship team. You don’t trade 22-year-olds with that floor and ceiling. 2. Alperen Şengün – After the playoffs, it’s clear to me that he could be the second-best player on a contender. He’s super skilled and brings some toughness, though he still has areas to improve. I think he’s a top-25 asset in the league. I’d include him in a Giannis deal if absolutely necessary—but he’s off the table in any KD trade talk. 3. Jabari Smith Jr. – Profiles as a reliable starter on a title team: solid defense, and capable of being a third scoring option. I’d think long and hard about including him in any deal this summer. He’d be on the table for Giannis, but probably not for KD. 4. Jalen Green – This one might be controversial. The tools are still there for him to be a potential league-leading scorer, but given who’s ahead of him on this list, I’d be fine including him in a deal for either Giannis or KD (or other upgrade options that become available). 5. Tari Eason – I know a lot of fans might have him ahead of Green right now, but to me, he’s a more erratic version of Jabari Smith Jr. If I’m choosing between the two, I’m taking Jabari without hesitation. Hard to determine: Reed Sheppard – I’d be very hesitant to include him in any trades this summer. He’s in line for a bigger role next year, and this postseason showed how badly we need shooting. Cam Whitmore – I like his game, but he fits the mold of a guy who gets his numbers without necessarily helping the team win. Add in his clear frustration with his role, and he feels like the most obvious “sweetener” in a potential trade package. I’m not saying give him away—but he’s movable in the right deal. Bottom line: If we can get Giannis while keeping Amen, Jabari, and Sheppard, I’d give Milwaukee just about anything else they want. If we can get KD while keeping Amen, Şengün, and Jabari, I’d do the same with Phoenix—though I’d still want to limit it to just three picks going out.
  2. I was going to try and do this all in one post, but I think I'll tackle it in separate posts. First up: a ranking of the draft picks the Rockets currently own. Picks: 2025 Phoenix pick (we'll know the exact spot next Monday) 2027 Brooklyn swap 2027 Phoenix pick 2027 Houston pick 2028 Houston pick 2029 Phoenix pick 2029 Dallas pick 2029 Houston pick (we get the two best of the three 2029 picks — I'm assuming we'll be better than Dallas and Phoenix so we won't have this pick) 2030 Houston pick 2031 Houston pick My Ranking of the Top 5 picks (as of now): 2029 Phoenix 2027 Brooklyn swap 2027 Phoenix 2029 Dallas 2025 Phoenix (assuming it stays at #9) Obviously this could change depending on lottery results, especially for the 2025 pick - if that pick jumps into the top 4 this pick immediately moves into the top 3. Regardless, I’d be willing to trade the three least valuable of those five for KD, while holding onto the top two. For Giannis, I’d be willing to part with all five—though ideally, I’d swap one of them for one of our own picks (2027, 2028, 2030, or 2031). The Rockets are certainly stacked when it comes to draft capital to involve in trades. What does everyone else think regarding my ranking of all of the picks we currently have?
  3. the last time the Rockets were relevant i was about to get married, i only knew living and dying with this shit as a dude just l-i-v-i-n.....tonight, i'm cheering rockets baskets as my 4 year old asks me "what daddy" whenever i clap scream and clap my hands at the most recent FVV 3. i love this shit. for the longest time in my life all i had was my sports teams, now that i have more than that i love introducing the more than that to my sports teams. you guys im so fucking pumped. we're about to fucking beat the warriors. steph "i make every fucking shot i shoot against the rockets" curry and draymond "im the biggest piece of shit in the nba" green. we couldn't quite do it in 2018 because we lost our point guard, but we're motherfucking gonna do it on sunday.
  4. no one know what you're talking about, but you're a fucking moron.
  5. OMG what a fucking orgasmic experience that game was. I'm so fucking pumped. Fred Van Vleet, Jabari Motherfucking Smith, Sengun, Amen Thompson, Steven Adams. Fucking warriors, all of them. I haven't had this much fun as a Rockets fan since 2018. I'm so fucking pumped for game 7.
  6. uh, it is 2 weeks max for round 1. these series started on april 19-20 and (if they all went 7) would end on may 3-4.
  7. i expect that Cam will be included in whatever trade happens this summer. to me, he's the most expendable of all the young guys and he's obviously not happy with his role on this team.
  8. LMAO @ anyone who thinks Zach Lowe is parroting anyone. If anything, its the other way around.
  9. i've been doing my best to avoid this thread during the series as i just can't handle all the hot takes that come game by game, so forgive the drive by comment but i think this series has shown that we've definitely got some guys who can be pieces on contending teams over the next 5-10 years. some of those guys will probably be on contending teams that are not the Rockets as I do expect a big trade to happen at some point relatively soon, but Sengun, Amen, Jabari, Tari, and Jalen have all had moments (some more than others) throughout the series that made me think they can be real pieces. the issue with them remains the same issue everyone has previously identified, i'm just not sure there is a future #1 player on a title contending team amongst them. i love how they've competed throughout the series and am slighlty optimistic that they can win tomorrow night and force a game 7 back in Houston. and of course, fuck draymond green.
  10. absolute fucking stud.
  11. gavin kash is a pussy ass little bitch. enjoy the day off tomorrow bitch.
  12. only because of our easy schedule /looch
  13. Volantis is going to be the most popular athlete on campus in 2 years.
  14. yeah that is a terrible, terrible decision and it's not like it wasn't obvious coming in to the playoffs which would be the more compelling series between those two.
  15. when a guy is shooting 44% from 3, you want him taking a lot of attempts.
  16. that was a lot of fun last night. almost turned it off to watch basketball when tx state hit the grand slam. glad i didn't.
