Even after a setup, it wasn't easy to love. The P90s sounded great plugged straight in to a cranked tweed Bassman, but what doesn't? Otherwise, it just didn't do it for me. I finally sold it to Chicago Music Exchange, and I don't miss it one bit. I'm sure there are some great Casinos out there, but that's definitely a guitar I'd suggest trying before you buy. Good to know. If I was to get something to replace the Gibson ES-330, I would probably look at an Eastman T64.

Saw the One o'Clock Lab Band do their fall show last week in Denton and the guitarist, a sophomore, was playing one of these but the -335 version with hum buckers. It was a smooth guitar.

December 3, 20214 yr Anybody ever played a G&L?? It looks nice and pretty at least. And it’s not made in China, so that’s a plus. Right? I assume made in Indonesia is better. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/LegyHSSTLPB--g-and-l-tribute-legacy-hss-electric-guitar-lake-placid-blue
December 3, 20214 yr Lots of G&L owners on here. Maybe the best regular bang for your buck on any electric guitar. Not sure if you know but Leo Fender started that company. The name stands for George & Leo (George Fullerton and Leo Fender) but a lot of folks called it Guitars by Leo.

December 3, 20214 yr Listen to Hulla, G&L’s are legit, even the 2nd tier “Tribute” models that are made overseas.

I didn't buy the one I was asking advice on. It just had too many mods for such a nice guitar. I got one that's a 2002 and pristine.

December 3, 20214 yr I have a G&L Tribute S-500, which is like a Strat with MFD pickups and a toggle switch to turn on/off the neck pickup so you can get all 3 pickups at the same time, or a neck-bridge comb. Its heavy and very well made. It uses the same MFD pickups as the real G&L but with cheaper electronics and hardware elsewhere. The only flaw is the 2-point whammy. It isn’t as stable as advertised, and the intonation goes off when I dive bomb. I’m actually looking to sell mine if you’re interested. It’s Olympic white in mint/excellent condition. I’m selling it to fund a Les Paul type guitar.

I personally don't mess with a trem or floyd rose and perfer hard tail because I am not that great of a player and I don't play around with that but I would like this guitar. Fender has a lake placid blue that is far bluer than the g&l. I just did a Google search on the the G&L lake placid and the shades are kind of all over the place. Before you buy, you should see if this is the color you are getting or ask Sweetwater for more details. What kind of music are you playing?

(Or maybe Marty Music does, but that’s because his are so stubby.) When Darrell does his one-minute solo, the closeups on the fingers make you question whether the deformity that comes with dedication to the guitar is something that you are willing to accept. OCD SIDE NOTE: Try to count how many times he say “So”, “Well”, and/or “Yeah” (“yeh-uh”, not “yay!”). His crutch words.
December 5, 20214 yr I’ve noticed people with long fingers always say “it doesn’t matter if you don’t have long fingers”. It’s like they’re personally making fun of me. Bastards

December 6, 20214 yr Man I have a bad case of Gibson fever. I've been kicking around the idea of getting a new acoustic for months now and haven't pulled the trigger. I think I've decided the SJ-200 is too damn expensive, but the J-45 and the Hummingbird sure are pretty awesome. If I decide to go with the J-45, the local shop has a Cherry one that plays really really well. red acoustic though? Then on the flip side, I like the inlay on the fretboard of the hummingbird a lot.

December 6, 20214 yr red J-45 or Hummingbird if you had to choose? I am a bigger fan of natural/sunburst acoustics rather than colored. I’m all about the wood grain. So it’d be hummingbird for me. But it ain’t my money. I am happy to spend it for you though.
December 6, 20214 yr I think either. I have a Hummingbird, its great. Basically its A j45 with square shoulders and a cool pickguard. I loaned it to a friend a few months ago and he keeps asking to extend the loan, so he must be enjoying it.
December 6, 20214 yr Here's a nice one for you. Looks to be in your range. https://reverb.com/item/43744766-vintage-1940-gibson-super-jumbo-200-acoustic-guitar-iconic-pre-war-singing-cowboy-sj-200-j-200
