He missed all last year with an injury but has been looking good this offseason.

if the staff really is avoiding going hard after guys like Crawford and Baker because they want George as part of a package deal for Evans, then we better fucking get Evans. Risking missing on an elite RB and OT so we can stay in it with Evans til the end would be a big gamble for the staff.

Or just take 6 OL and figure out the numbers later. Surely we can find a spot.

We need to try to get the AZ and CA guys in the boat and recruiting themselves teammates here before Helton’s replacement is hired. There is always a chance they fire Swann and Helton and bring in Urban in time to salvage a 2019 class.

Whenever I watch the combine, my first thought is always that 90% of college football players lie about how fast they are.

Do you even SC bro? They'll hire Jack Del Rio after Jeff Fisher makes them so no.

Yes Indoor Naty.... Sunday, gonna see Tower Lit #1

CDC -- Forty Acres Insider:

"We get to "Light the Tower" burnt orange as the Women's Track and Field team won the Big 12 Indoor Championship last week! The Tower lighting ceremony is scheduled for sunset Sunday. That's back-to-back indoor titles for the women and, all totaled, our combined Track and Field squads earned six Big 12 individual event championships and set two school records."

Pretty sure "Big 12 Indoor Championship" means, you know, the conference championship. Not a "naty"...

You “doubt “ we’ll take all three?

They should just drop the names of Watts, Eaton, Kimber and Crawford in a hat, and close the deal on the first two names drawn. It’s a crapshoot from here on which ones will have the better college career. I’m not excited about any of them.

I agree. At corner, snag Ringo, and then it's a total crap shoot from there (unless they somehow miraculously land Davis or Ricks).

It’s pretty much just in the DFW area. I didn’t know about it until I moved up here a few years ago. Seems like a good spot for OL to throw down.

For in-state the 5 I hope we definitely get are Evans, Broughton, Collins, Lindberg, and Thompson.

Others I'm hoping for are Dorbah, Alford ( think he can be a really good nickel ), Umanmielen, and White.

For OOS give me Ringo, Flowe, and Wilson.  Anything after that is gravy.  Maybe Ransom as well.

Not sure on the 2nd CB spot.  Like was posted above, seems like Eaton, Watts, Kimber, and Crawford are all interchangeable.

Thx.... ran across this again from TFB so bumping it here:

Breakdown of 2020 Defensive Targets  – CJ Vogel

Texas is coming off a 2019 cycle that included some absolute freaks on the defensive side of the ball. Tyler Owens, De’Gabriel Floyd, Kenyatta Watson and David Gbenda will soon be all over the field for Todd Orlando’s defense. With that said, the 2020 defensive class is off to a slow start compared to the offensive side, however there is legit talent out there that is high on the Longhorns early on.

Defensive Line

Vernon Broughton (Cypress, TX)
Alfred Collins (Bastrop, TX)
Prince Dorbah (Highland Park, TX)
Princely Umanmielen (Manor, TX)
Alec Bryant (Pearland, TX)
Branard Wright (Dallas, TX)
To say this cycle’s defensive line talent is good would be a massive understatement. Texas is sitting in wonderful position with a good handful of the aforementioned names. In person, Vernon Broughton is one of the most physically intimidating prospects this cycle has to offer. Texas is sitting out front for Alfred Collins as well. Texas has gotten Dorbah and Umanmielen on campus quite frequently so far, however they will have to fight off Oklahoma and other regional schools for either of their services. Dallas Carter’s Branard Wright is one of the few true defensive tackles in this class, it appears that LSU is the clear leader for him at the moment, though he was on campus for the Junior Day last weekend.

Linebacker

Justin Flowe (Upland CA)
Brennan Scott (Dallas, TX)
Sav’ell Smalls (Seattle, WA)
Josh White (Cypress, TX)

Once again, the linebacker position is rather thin in the state of Texas for the 2020 cycle. Surely more targets will appear following the spring eval period, similar to how David Gbenda exploded on the scene last year. Five-star Justin Flowe is the best candidate to being this cycle’s Bru McCoy. Obviously, Flowe is pegged to USC early, but there is interest from both sides, but getting Flowe back on campus will be imperative to if there is a legit chance. Brennan Scott has visited a couple times this offseason, however he is high on Texas A&M, Oklahoma and Arkansas early on.

Cornerback

Joshua Eaton (Houston, TX)
Kelee Ringo (Scottsdale, AZ)
Dwight McGlothern (Duncanville, TX)
Jaylon Jones (Cibolo, TX)
Jalen Kimber (Mansfield, TX)
Ryan Watts (Little Elm, TX)
Fred Davis (Jacksonville, FL)

Texas is looking to put up a stellar class at the cornerback position for the third consecutive cycle, but they’ll need some help to do so. I am very high on Joshua Eaton early on, and he seems to be on the Longhorns. Eaton has been on campus two weekends in a row and is really starting to gain national interest. Five-star Kelee Ringo has Texas ties with his position coach Bryant Westbrook being an ex-Longhorn. As for Duncanville CB Dwight McGlothern, it’s been a weird up-and-down recruitment so far, but with that said, his recent Twitter activity indicates that Texas is squarely in it for his services. With Texas A&M snagging Jaylon Jones, Texas may up their interest on Jalen Kimber out of Mansfield. I fully expect more names to pop up after the spring evaluation season.

Safeties

Chris Thompson (Duncanville, TX)
Xavion Alford (Shadow Creek, TX)
Bryson Washington (Houston, TX)
Darius Snow (Hebron, TX)
Jerrin Thompson (Lufkin, TX)
Lathan Ransom (Tucson, AZ)

It’s going to be an exciting cycle at the safety position this year. Chris Thompson is one of the best safeties in the country and has very high interest in the Longhorns. Xavion Alford was on campus for Texas’ Junior Day and has had some very impressive outings at recent camps. Bryson Washington will commit in July which plays well for the Longhorns who are right at the top of his list. Lathan Ransom is another out of state guy to watch, he is also tight with Kelee Ringo as well.

(Gabe Brooks) The Opening Dallas: Players to watch

The Opening 2019 tour continues Sunday with The Opening Dallas regional camp, which will be held at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. A star-studded roster is expected to compete at Sunday's event. The secondary will be absolutely loaded Sunday in Frisco. Almost double-digit four-star prospects are expected to compete at The Opening Dallas, including Duncanville (Texas) High School standout Chris Thompson Jr., the highest-ranked of the group at No. 61 overall nationally on the industry-generated 247Sports Composite. Joining Thompson are 247Sports Composite four-stars Eric Reed from Shreveport (La.) Calvary Baptist, Lorando Johnson from Lancaster (Texas) High School, Jalen Kimber from Mansfield (Texas) Timberview, and Darius Snow from Lewisville (Texas) Hebron.

In addition to that group are two more 247Sports four-stars in Little Elm (Texas) High School cornerback Ryan Watts and Arlington (Texas) High School cornerback Jahari Rogers. Austin (Texas) LBJ four-star Latrell McCutchin represents the 2021 class in this loaded defensive back group. Battling that DB haul will be a deep roster of quarterbacks. Duncanville (Texas) High School athlete Ja'Quinden Jackson is expected to compete with the QB group. Jackson is ranked No. 43 overall nationally on the 247Sports Composite. He's joined by Texas four-star quarterback commit Hudson Card from Lake Travis (Texas) High School, as well as Longview (Texas) High School four-star Haynes King, who is the new No. 1 QB in Texas on the updated Top247 rankings at No. 43 overall nationally.

Iowa commit Deuce Hogan from Grapevine (Texas) Faith Christian is a 247Sports Composite four-star as well. Oklahoma pledge and high three-star athlete Michael Henderson will work out with the quarterbacks Sunday, too. That quarterback group will throw to a loaded unit of receivers and tight ends headlined by Oklahoma high four-star tight end pledge Drew Sanders from Denton (Texas) Ryan. Sanders is ranked No. 36 nationally on the 247Sports Composite, but is even higher at No. 14 overall in the updated Top247 rankings. Rockwall (Texas) High School standout and Ohio State four-star commit Jaxon Smith-Njigba joins Frisco (Texas) Lone Star four-star Marvin Mims, Dallas Jesuit four-star all-purpose back/receiver EJ Smith, and Coppell (Texas) High School 2021 four-star KJ Liggins in a talented receiving corps.

247Sports Composite five-star running back and Oklahoma commit Jase McClellan from Aledo (Texas) High School headlines the running back group, which also features Mesquite (Texas) Poteet four-star Seth McGowan. Facing them in running back vs. linebacker 1-on-1's will be Dallas Bishop Dunne four-star Brennon Scott and Mesquite (Texas) Horn 2021 four-star Kendrick Blackshire.

Last but certainly not least are two strong linemen groups that should provide some good action during 1-on-1's. The offensive line group is expected to feature Broken Arrow (Okla.) four-star guard Andrew Raym, No. 75 nationally on the 247Sports Composite, but No. 39 overall in the updated Top247 rankings. LSU four-star offensive tackle pledge Courtland Ford from Cedar Hill (Texas) High School and Texas four-star guard commit Logan Parr from San Antonio O'Connor join Frisco (Texas) Reedy tackle Nathan Anderson, a new four-star prospect in the Top247 rankings.

They will face a defensive line group featuring Dallas Highland Park four-star outside linebacker/edge defender Prince Dorbah, as well as Hazen (Ark.) High School four-star end Blayne Toll. Haynesville (La.) High School four-star tackle and LSU pledge CamRon Jackson will also compete with the D-line group, which is expected to be bolstered by a strong group of underclassmen including Terrell (Texas) High School 2022 standout Keithian "Bear" Alexander and Weatherford (Okla.) High School four-star end Ethan Downs.

He's from Racine and has been playing JuCo ball in Council Bluffs - everything probably feels amazing after that.

Braun... as in "Braun's"... as in ice-cream drinks?

is that what he means?

or is he always taking pictures of candy assed drinks?

(I kind of already know the answer to this)

So what's the rule on tallying whether a drill is won or lost? It looks like they blow the whistle before the defender gets to the cone, regardless if he beat the O-lineman or got re-routed.

I believe the correct answer here is who gives a fuck if they technically won or lost?

Bull rushing is not allowed. So, if the DL is getting into the body then he is breaking the rules. It is a quickness drill.

Try watching the video. The DL didn’t bull rush. You can get into an OL’s body without bull rushing him.

He used a spin move. Getting into an O-lineman's body doesn't automatically mean you're bull-rushing.

Yeah, but the DL also didn't get anywhere. His spin move basically failed.
