I'll be there next week for a conference and need dinner and bar recs. I'll be staying near Old Town. Thoughts?

Higher end dinner - Ella on corner of 12th and K is outstanding.

Cafeteria 15K was good restaurant as well.

Both of the above have good bars and there are many others up and down K Street pedestrian area near the capital.

Torch Club is a great cocktail bar and blues club

It sucks.

I discovered this last year when I was there. Unfortunately, thanks to a typo by me and general laziness and incompetence by the conference staff, I'm staying a day later than I need to.

Thanks for the recs. Please keep them coming. I have a long six days to fill.

several breweries in the area too

I like LowBrau last time I visited.  Temple Coffee is one of the best roasters in the nation.

Sacramento is the biggest farm to fork city in the US, I believe. Some great meals to be had. I grew up in the central valley and have had the pleasure when I go back to visit my folks:

Brunch - Tower Cafe
Burgers and Brews - Burgers & Brews
Tacos - Taqueria Rincon Alteño (going to and from the airport)
Californian - Red Rabit Kitchen

They also have a great arcade/bar/pizza joint called the Coin-OP. Be sure to check out the capital mall and walk around Old Sac as well.

Enjoy!
