Kelvin Banks gave a little something there too. If Majors could have reached the end quicker for a cleaner block that’s a big hitter. That’s one of the toughest things a C gets asked to go so I’m not going to be overly critical of not doing better there.

Bobby Burton   I’m a Cam Williams fan. Daniel Jeremiah, ESPN NFL draft analyst, talked about Williams yesterday. It’s nice, yet unsurprising, that Williams is starting to turn head

DJ Campbell had an awesome night, this single play is a great example of that. Great job up front from ALL of our big n heavy dudes.

if christian jones were playing against us here about 90% of the board would have had a heart attack scream-typing that he got away with a hold.

There was a fair bit of "it ain't Holding, if the ref don't throw his flag" from our guys. That, and I think both times Bama was drawn offside at critical points came from a quick hand squeeze - the refs couldn't see any movement because there was none to be seen... except by the opposing DL.  About time, I say.

Daniel Cruz is playing center for his high school team for the first time in his career to prepare him for college. He’s already pulling and getting second level after only 2 games.

Once Campbell is a little more comfortable I'd like to see a Banks - Hutson - Majors - Campbell - Jones lineup.

Now why would you put your plans of premeditated murder on here for all to see?

I'm a simple man.  I love breakfast tacos, sassy women and nasty OLinemen.

Remember when Colt got knocked on his ass after the whistle against OU and the linemen just stood there? That might be a good way for a defender to get his soul separated from his body at this point.

Damn, OL seems to have some bad intentions.  Good to see

From where we thought we were a week ago, to that performance against a highly touted defense….I am stunned.

I know I saw Ewers get popped a time or two late after handoffs early in the game. It didn’t happen at the end.

I didn't see Neto much in this game, did he play at all?
I didn't see him at all and I know he didn't catch a ball. Maybe he played on special teams but I believe Crawford and Robinson are the gunners.

Can confirm that Neto also did not throw a touchdown pass.

Look at DJ here.  Blocking two.  He didn't come to Tuscaloosa to fuck around. What a bounce back.

Can we two about DJ Campbell mauling on the second level. https://t.co/AiEMQFUrmc

Play over and DJ still blocking. Even AD Mitchell caught some running up to celebrate. Reminds me of this......

Texas' offensive line is the only group since 2014 that allowed fewer than 3 QB pressures and zero sacks in a single game against Alabama.

That’s, uh, not at all what Majors was asked to do there but cool story bro

So fucking proud of the O-Line last night.

Gonna have to rewatch the game as I was a pacing fool last night.

I’m stating something general about our next center. You have to have elite skill to pull from that position and it opens up a lot more plays

#3574

Just watching the post game presser with Sark on LHN.

No false starts.  I didn’t even think about that last night.

Hell yes!

I think Neto missed a FG in the 2nd.

Tweet referenced above

Texas RG Cole Hutson…no gloves, no tape, just blocks.

Cole Hudson also getting in on the pancake action

#3581

Lol how did he not get flagged for that? Looked like the play had been over and he shoved him across guys getting.

That’s the type of attitude OLinemen need.

I’m also surprised no flag.

I’m more surprised at someone in a Longhorn uni with that kind of bad attitude. Fuck yes.

#3585

On the DJ play, Bama fans are upset for there not being a flag. They are even more upset that no Bama player went to the guy’s defense and got in DJ’s face.

Texas OT Christian Jones’s streak is up to four games since he last allowed a sack in pass pro, the longest active streak of any Big 12 OT.

And Conner had the smartest play of the game, squeezing his hand to draw Bama offside late. Absolutely a genius play.

Watch Hayden Conner's right hand on this crucial 4th down offsides by Alabama.

That gif is unfortunately too low resolution to see how abrupt a movement it was. He had his hand fully open, then snapped it shut into a fist.

Question for folks better familiar with the rules: is this a penalty of caught? I've gone through them and since the ball doesn't move, it doesn't seem to technically be a penalty. But I wasn't sure if there was somewhere a general rule that the center can't trick the defense at all.

It should have been called a false start if noticed by a ref. Rule 7-2-3 says it's a false start if

"3. A restricted lineman mov(es) their hands(s) or mak(es) any quick movement."

Subrule 4 also says any quick jerky movement is a false start. It was sneaky but ultimately illegal.

You forgot to say “and fucking awesome.”

#3598

So does "mov(es) their hands(s)" mean while in a two point stance or does it only apply to 3 and 4 point stances?

Regardless, if the ref can't see you, it's not a penalty.

#3599

That's a good point. I think restricted means with a hand on the ground, but the quick jerky movement rule still applies. Not to mention it was clearly intended to simulate the snap. Even if he knew it was illegal ahead of time it was well worth the risk there. If it works we win. If caught we punt and 95%+ win.

#3600

We will never know, but my guess is we were comfortable taking the delay of game or false start if it came to that and punting to force Bama to go the length of the field down 10 with 2 minutes left or whatever. It was a smart gamble.
