December 1, 20241 yr And that's against Scourton and Stewart, who are supposed to be two of the top edge picks for the next NFL draft... reminds me of banks first season, watching him shut down the first round edge's from Alabama
December 1, 20241 yr He’ll likely be thrown in the fire again next week if Banks can’t go. Proud of the young man.

I get the controversy but if this OL plays this well there is a real chance we make a solid run at it all on the strength of our line play and defensive dominance. Just incredible how we’ve shown the SEC how to play SEC football.

December 5, 20241 yr I know nothing about o line, but my buddy is a former coach and just started up a twitter and YouTube breaking down o line stuff, so figured id share it here. Edited December 5, 20241 yr by Biff Tannen He’s a huge Longhorn fan, not sure why he’s seemingly courting the aggy point of view here
December 5, 20241 yr I am sorry but when almost the entire DL reestablishes the LOS 3 yards into the offensive backfield, it has everything to do with physical domination.

I mean, read the text. "... it wasn't just dominating defense..." The play call was poor and doomed from the start, and Texas blew it up because they were whipping aggy on the line all night. Not mutually exclusive.

December 6, 20241 yr 3 minutes ago, LTtxfan said: Those grades are questionable for some... you know who I'm talking about 😋 Banks should be 100?
December 6, 20241 yr Overall pass blocking grade is 93.0. Best in the land. Number two is 87.4. Obviously, our grade is inflated. Course last year we were 3rd at 86.8 so probably inflated.
December 8, 20241 yr Joe Moore Award candidates my ass... again a bunch of mistakes from Texas o-line against jawja. Several analysts after this game saying that jawja just kicked Texas o-linemen's asses in 2nd half and was the more physical team. Anyone see why DJ got pulled and replaced by Hutson??? Why can't Texas run the damn ball better against kirby's defense?? We are supposed to have some maulers up front, but instead have another shitshow result again??? What the hell were we trying to do pulling our o-linemen several tines leaving open gaps for the jawja defense to just easily penetrate thru? Why does this Texas o-line keep getting their asses kicked by jawja? Too many negative yardage plays last night on offense constantly slowed/stopped the drives of the Texas offense. Coach Flood and Sark need to get this shitshow offense playing better especially on the offensive line -- We are too damn inconsistent. The Texas offense was again one dimensional in the 2nd half constantly playing on our heels and a big part of that was poor blocking by our o-line. Why has the Texas offense been shitting the bed so often in 3rd quarters recently??? With so much so-called NFL talent along our offensive line, why does jawja keep making the Texas blocking look like Swiss cheese full of holes??? Both Coach Flood and Sark are definitely underachieving with this group -- just don't understand why our coaches aren't getting much better results on offense especially up front. Sorry for jumbled rant at 4am, but so disappointed by our offensive results last night... damn it
December 8, 20241 yr Criticism of our guards getting bullied, and Quinn just not getting it done in red zone.
December 8, 20241 yr Starting a more in depth rewatch now, not sure how much video I'm going to clip, but any OL stuff I'll post here. There's no real goal in mind, just trying to see what happened and will post stuff that stands out to me. First play up: This is the 5th offensive snap of the game. I don't like the play design because all the routes are covered down field and the plan looks to be to leak Wisner out of the backfield, but #11 is there anyway. Nevertheless, this play gets blown up because Goosby isn't sure of his assignment. With Campbell pulling he's going to block the end and Goosby needs to block down on #78 but doesn't. Wisner tries to throw a shoulder into #78, but that isn't his responsibility on this play. Texas OL 1.mp4
December 9, 20241 yr Criticism of Texas O-line in a couple places. Flood and Sark need to ride asses of this OL group going into Clemson. Focus and execution has to get fixed... Georgia takes the SEC Championship & the College Football playoff field is set
December 9, 20241 yr Yall need to make your minds up. Youre sucking Floods dick when Texas runs the ball against scrubs and other lesser teams. You want to string him up when they screw the pooch against a team like GA.

You want to string him up when they screw the pooch against a team like GA. In football, the situation is always fluid. You're good until you aren't. One game doesn't negate that, but man, two really bad performances against our only elite opponent is not a good sign.
December 9, 20241 yr I hope most of y'all share this sentiment, but I look at the 2005 Longhorns as the pinnacle of the program. And an example of what level can be achieved and the standard in which to hold. This 2024 team reminds me of the 2003 team. They are still learning how to win and become champions. Toughness, focus, preparedness, execution. Still not quite there. Banks will be a 1st rounder and should absolutely declare after the season. I don't see the high round grade in Williams that the media talks about. Not dominant and quite a bit undisciplined. It would serve him well to come back. G-C-G is good not great. Would like to see Texas get beefier at Guard and a bit more of an attitude. Edited December 9, 20241 yr by RoyalBevo21
December 11, 20241 yr Hayden Conner whenever asked to pull vs jawja was constantly getting knocked 2yds into the backfield disrupting several run plays... while this is frustrating about Hayden, Flood and Sark need to be much better with their gameplans so Texas can run the damn ball better. Also...

December 19, 20241 yr 12 minutes ago, linux said: Jonathan Scott SWEET !!! 🤘 A National Champion, two-time All-American and four-time All-Big 12 selection, Jonathan Scott started 45 career games at offensive tackle for Texas. He joined an elite group of Longhorns by earning unanimous first-team All-American honors and did that while paving the way for the UT’s perfect 13-0 National Championship team in 2005. That year, Scott anchored a line that helped Texas rank first in the nation in scoring offense (50.2 ppg), second in rushing offense (274.9 ypg) and third in total offense (512.1 ypg), while setting school single-season records in both points scored (652) and total yards (6,657). The 652 points broke a 22-year-old NCAA record of 624 points set by Nebraska in 1983, while the 50.2 points per game average marked only the fifth time in NCAA history a team finished the year averaging over 50 points per game up until that time. During Scott’s four years at UT, the Longhorns won 11 games three times, at least 10 games all four years, were victorious in three bowl games, posted an overall record of 45-6 (28-4 in Big 12) and finished in the Top 11 nationally all four years with three in the Top Six. In 2004, Scott allowed just one sack all season and earned second-team All-America honors. He was a key part of a line that cleared the way for Texas to rank second in the nation in rushing (299.2 ypg), seventh in total offense (464.4 ypg) and 12th in scoring (35.3 ppg) that year. UT registered six 300-yard rushing games, the most since 1977. The season saw the Longhorns earn a Top-Five ranking, finish 11-1 and win the first of back-to-back Rose Bowls. As a sophomore, Scott started all 13 games, with the Longhorns winning 10 of them, as he earned third-team All-Big 12 honors. He helped the line rank sixth in the nation in scoring offense (41.0 ppg) and eighth in rushing offense (232.5 ypg). In 2002, he started seven games as a freshman, including the last six, as Texas finished 11-2 and in the Top 10 following a win over LSU in the Cotton Bowl. He was selected honorable mention All-Big 12 and made the All-Big 12 Freshman Team. A fixture on the Athletics Director’s Honor Roll at UT, Scott earned his bachelor’s degree in radio/television/film in May 2005. After being selected in the fifth round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions, he played a total of nine years in the NFL with the Lions, Buffalo Bills (2008-09), Pittsburgh Steelers (2010-11), Chicago Bears (2012-13) and Atlanta Falcons (2014). He played in 71 NFL games, starting 35. A native of Dallas who played at Dallas Carter High School, Scott was a member of the Steelers team that played in Super Bowl XLV at Cowboys Stadium, the first to be played in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Following his career, he has gone into business and is a brand ambassador for the National Psoriasis Foundation, helping to bring awareness to psoriasis and speaking as a health advocate. He was a featured patient panelist at the National Psoriasis Foundation Skin of Color Congressional Briefing in 2015. He spent 2018 as a coaching intern with the San Francisco 49ers. He has excelled in diverse fields, including being recognized as an Amazon No. 1 bestselling author, making his mark in finance, real estate, education, coaching, executive leadership, and the music industry, culminated by his ownership of a private equity and finance group.
December 19, 20241 yr Just wanna say we're gonna miss probably our best lineman we've ever had who took home the lombardi and outland. That's incredible. Banks is truly special. He's not on the two deep this year. Even with Texas replacing 3-5 OL next season I don't see a clear path to starting for him and wouldn't be surprised if he transfers, but if he stays there's at least a path for him to be on the two deep. It says he's listed at 300 lbs, so maybe next year he can make an impact, because I sure as hell don't trust Hutson. January 1Jan 1 Pass pro was largely okay (minus a couple of blitz pickup issues here and there) but this unit should be flat out embarrassed by the game tape here. And the fucking false starts in high leverage situations are unacceptable. Disastrous overall performance today.
