October 4Oct 4 Kyle Flood blows. He was fired as a Head Coach from FUCKING RUTGERS where he got suspended when half a dozen players got arrested for assault and robbery. No surprise the O-Line is terrible. Flood’s backup QB during this time was Mike Bimonte who is AJ Milwee’s right hand man in developing QBs. WTF are we doing with Rutgers rejects on our coaching staff?!? And don’t get me started with Neal Brown and the WVU staff that got fired who are also coaching here.
October 5Oct 5 We need to get Florida’s OL coach when Napier is canned.Fuck that. Sark should be standing outside their locker room and catch him as he leaves.

Yes Arch needs to play better, yes Wisner and Baxter hopefully get healthy -- but Flood has to figure out what guys can show up and play well together as a group on this O-line. One month later and we are a bigger pile of dogshit.

October 5Oct 5 NIL, Austin, UT, tradition, top notch facilities, etc and this is what we get? Flood should be at U-Haul picking up his moving truck. I will pitch in for the moving blankets. Flood is the Dabo of O-Line coaches.
October 5Oct 5 As a former Texas O-Lineman, I’ve never seen the Longhorn offensive line struggle like this. It’s beyond concerning — protection is collapsing, no push up front, and it’s killing every drive. We must go back to max protection. Football isn’t 7-on-7 — it’s won in the trenches. Right now, Texas is losing that war every snap. It doesn’t matter who’s at QB or how loaded your skill room is… if you can’t protect or move the D-line, you’re done. 5:44 PM · Oct 4, 2025 ·

Because he didn't much. Class of 99, Parade All American. Transferred to Blinn, signed again. Started like seven games. An all-time bust. Alfio Randall-Veasey at the time. He might still know what he's talking about though.

October 5Oct 5 This is amazing. 35 pressures is damn near every pass attempt. Was wondering how recruiting 4 scrubs every year was going to work out after our initial “big human” star-studded class (3-4 of which were busts). Don’t think the Mannings would have signed off on UT had they known this would be the shit show he’d be playing behind.
October 5Oct 5 I was skeptical of Flood from the get go. even with the success, the 2 years before this had some concerning "failures" against top flight comp. Sark's first big decision will be firing his OL/Co-OC buddy. I wonder if he has the stones to do it. My guess is he will let the ship burn while the most important unit on ANY football team flounders like an 8th grade B team. If you can't run the ball you are fucked. This team is in massive trouble.
October 5Oct 5 Rewatched all the offensive snaps. The number of times the LG and/or C either get put on skates, put on their ass, or jut flat miss is shocking. It’s probably unfair to Nick Brooks since he’s a true freshman, but he’s no better than Stroh. Edited October 5Oct 5 by Dark Horse
October 5Oct 5 Flood’s OL at bama was the best in the country. ultimately it’s sark’s weak influence from the top that will keep his teams from winning the biggest games.

They came to play for Saban, Flood didn't have to recruit at all. Sark is never going to Saban(no one is). Now Flood has to recruit without Saban. In year 5, this OL should at least be competent if Flood is an actual good OL coach. he is not.

The very first thing we need to do, and it's not gonna fix everything but it could act as a tourniquet, is put in Robertson at center and Hutson at LG. That could potentially be.... somewhat functional? I'm talking about just keeping players alive.

His lines at Bama were good because they were Brent Key's players. And it was Saban-era Alabama, so the level of talent stockpiling and S&C program were just different. Just like the success he's had here has almost entirely been with Herb fucking Hand recruits. His eye for talet, particularly on the interior, is clearly just not very good at all. I don't know that he's a bad teacher because he has done some good work with Jones, Majors, etc. But the evaluations leading to the bodies in the room have been catostrophic. 7 minutes ago, Red Five said: The very first thing we need to do, and it's not gonna fix everything but it could act as a tourniquet, is put in Robertson at center and Hutson at LG. I don’t know who the OL coach is for purdue right now but I guarantee he’d put a dominant line on the field if he were coaching under prime nick saban. flood has probably always been shit but a great head coach can cover that up. we do not have a great head coach.

We've heard good things about Kibble at guard. Try that then. We've got 15 scholarship OL. There is just no fucking way the five (Brooks is a tackle playing out of position and that experiment probably needs to end now) we saw yesterday are the best of what we can put on the field. It's just not possible. Kibble, Chatman, Cruz, Robertson, some Colemans... you mean to tell me they are all a step down from this current first team unit?

Robertson is pretty clearlty better than Hutson at center in the reps we've seen. If the knock on Neto that they can't get him to focus his agression and learn the playbook is true, that still seems like an upgrade at LG to me. I'd rather have one in three plays be busted assignments and have a dog on the rest of them than be physically unable to perform the job every snap like Stroh is. Ultimately either this is the best they can do, which is coaching malpractice; or it's not and they're sticking with it, which is coaching malpractice. It all ends up in the same place. Sark has obviously earned some grace but Flood's got to go.

There is just zero point in keeping Hutson at center at this stage. It's almost as bad as LG. After that then completely start over at guard, including potentially Campbell. Fucking try Jackson Christian or Christian Jackson or whatever the fuck his name is with the first team if we have to. Tackles aren't great but we can live with them for now, and I'm pretty confident those are our best two.
October 5Oct 5 Fix LG and we can win all the games. LG blows up the run game. LG blows up the pocket (C doesn't help much). Who ever was LG in 1H is cooked. Transfer portal candidate today. The next dude up was slightly less bad, but we were able to get some kind of offense going. OL was so bad that the defense gave zero fucks about the presnap motion on way too many plays... "Yeah, whatever, just snap the ball so we can push your shit into the backfield."

He cannot continue to take shots like that the rest of the season. It's dangerous. Here is the ugly truth, the people who make our personnel decisions, and who decide how we will allocate our $, are fucking stupid. Of course it is a problem we don't have a playmaker at WR. Of course it is a problem that our RBs are average (at best) and our QB is mentally weak. The biggest problem is that we decided to run a Ferrari on bald tires. We came into this season with low 4* (likely overrated, and we know why) mixed in wth some 3* talent on the offensive line. These guys are talentless pussies. Tech is spending more wisely in the trenches than us, which is why they would humilate us on the field.
