Last time I parked there I’m pretty sure they had whore’s turning tricks in my car. I contacted consumer affairs and all they did was send me a t-shirt.

Thanks for the f-shack!

How much extra was that?

abia parking website says “reservation blackouts” dec 23-jan 2 whatever that means.

what is the next best option?  the parking spot is showing about $25/day

what does an uber to the airport cost from central austin?  it’s been a while since I lived there.

I like FastPark because I never seem to wait more than 30 seconds for a shuttle.

Blue garage, level 2 (even if it says it’s full). $26 per day but no shuttle involved and no stairs or elevators.  I weigh the cost of that and an uber and do whichever is cheaper.

It’s all over the place depending on demand.  From SW Austin it’s usually anywhere from $35 to $55.

I’ll be flying out Christmas Day so I’d be nervous trying that without a reservation.  I’ll probably just uber.

My uber to the airport around noon last  wed was $28 from 45th and red river area. Thats pretty typical , but it can certainly surge higher to $40-60 occasionally.

We usually use Park & Zoom, $20/day for covered parking. They have a perpetual coupon for 10% off in their app.

(Their app design absolutely blows though)

I don't know why anyone would ever choose anything else.

In the age of Uber, it always surprises me that people still drive to the airport. It just seems so time consuming.

My anxiety about getting there on time makes driving myself a better option on the front end and then when I get back, the experience of being able to walk right to my car and get home is worth the money and missing the hassle of the uber experience coming out of ABIA.

I loved FastPark until 2021. The had no shuttle drivers. I'd wait for 20 mins and see 3 or 4 competitors' shuttles. I moved to Park and Zoom.

That and traveling for work, I rack up "points" to use for personal travel.

A big benefit of P&Z is that you earn points really quickly. If you fly a few times a year, you'll earn free parking easily.

Was just discussing this with a neighbor yesterday.  Round-trip Uber, with a decent tip, is about $80 from our neck of the woods.  So, on any trip of 5 days or more, the ride share is a cheaper option.  AND, it drops you right at the airport, no parking and then shuttle bus.  And the walk to the ride share pickup when you arrive isn't bad, I call the car as we are downstairs at baggage claim, it usually shows up right as we get to the pickup spot.  So, our new routine is that we only park for short business trips or for 3 day weekend type trips.  Otherwise?  Ride share is the best option.  For longer trips, it's not even close, it's a no-brainer.

ONE time in the latter stages of COVID-f'd-up travel, a couple buddies and I came back from a golf trip to a mob of people and a long wait for a FastPark bus. In fact, one of the guys JOGGED to the parking lot and picked up his car because thought it would be faster (maybe, maybe not).

Since then, the OTHER one of us absolutely refuses to do anything but the Blue garage which costs more than twice as much, plus you get to drag your luggage much farther by hand.

Meanwhile, I have never had another experience with ANY issues, so I continue to use FastPark and consider it just great.

I see walking to and from the blue garage as an advantage over any shuttle ride to any lot.  You do pay for it though.

Work travel, someone else is paying for the parking.

That said, Uber/Lyft/Taxi are all paid for too. But sometimes it's just nice to have your car right when you get back.

When I've taken Uber from home (Round Rock) to ABIA for work trips those ran $60-75 each way, which would pay for a week or more at FastPark. So 4-5 day personal trips we always drive. Plus, as Ron said, nice to have your car so we can swing by HEB for a quick grocery run before we get to the house.

let me just say I am GLAD that you have had positive experiences and I hope I, too, will ENJOY using fastpark as much as you.  if not, I will be NONPLUSSED and will return here to complain to you.
