Yeah, Overshown seems to find the training room an awful lot. At some point, it’s him, not bad luck.

Strange recruitment to say the least.

Miscommunication between Nahlin and his source. Cook played, but apparently not very well.

Any intel on why Cook has been struggling at Fall Camp??

When they were seniors at Lamar, I thought Jamison looked like the more talented corner.  This was before Cook committed to Texas, so it sounded like homerism, but I really think Jamison has more potential there.  Cook was known to grab onto guys in 7 on 7 and camps and try to get a way with what would be obvious penalties in a real game.  Not saying he won't be good, but Cook potentially playing as a backup isn't the shock to me that it is to some.

Exactly, I wasn't posting back then but Cook was very grabby in his 1 on 1 camp reps.  He can be great but I think he's a year away from consistent starting DB level play.  Jamison, I hope, learns to wrap up better after the catch.  Bouncing off of Duvernay during the spring game comes to mind

Per IT, Cook sat out the scrimmage. Per Chip Brown, Cook was in with the second team and "got beat a lot".

Horrifying images of sophomore Davante Davis run through my head...

Don’t give up on him, he was a bigger project than Cosmi but he’s no where near his ceiling and only a RSFR.

he could be healthy as a horse and he wouldn’t sniff all-conference this season, much less start.

Too bad,  I was hoping he would take a cosmi path to awesomeness.

He’s probably our fifth tackle right now and he’s out a few weeks.

Same. The same things would have been said about Shepherd if he went aggy. From all indications, he is fitting in well here.

I saw Leal play in 4 games in HS, the kid took a lot of snaps off. More than 50% of the time he loafed.

He is a big dude, and when he decides to get involved it obvious why everyone wanted him.   Looked like he needed to go to a program that would give him the best conditioning and coaching available to become a 1st round pick.  aggy wasn't the best choice, probably not even a good choice.

You just described 99% of elite HS defensive tackles.

Mitchell & Tillman and getting praise during Fall Camp is great to hear...

It's a great feeling knowing that all our RSFr OL are not needed for depth anymore. Ideally, you want your OL to start getting major game reps in their 3 year on campus, unless they are really special. That might change next year if Comsi leaves early, and Johnson will be needed at LT.

Sure would be nice to go 2005/08/09 on some teams this year where the entire second half is mop up and even those RS guys get significant PT

I think it’s great that the polls have LSU and OU ranked significantly higher than Texas.

The Summer of OG continues

So who's looking to be our 3rd string back. After Ingram and Young there's a pretty big drop in experienced backs on our roster. We can not afford an injury at that position this season.

Whittington is already the 2nd string RB.

I just assume you skipped over the part that said he would just be out a few weeks and read it as a career ending injury.

DevDuv and Jake Smith are the names being talked about, of course after JWhitt.

Not blowing out shitty teams (or anyone else) tend to fuck with the algorithms.

Why is that? Is it as simple as lack of returning starters?

Edit: Nvrmnd, see above

That and dragging around bad seasons from 3-4 years ago and projecting off of them.

At least in S&P+, it's that (specifically returning production - stuff like who was responsible for INTs, TDs, etc.) and, as @Hiphopopotamos said, we never blew anyone out, which is usually an ok correlation for quality.

So OUsucks 4, LSU 6, and Texas 13. That’s gonna look stupid after the smooth buttfuckings.
