Yep had the chance to clinch one game that would have set up Texas to play for the BCS title, and another chance to set up Texas with great field position in another BCS title game, and did the opposite of what Texas needed. Texas likely has at least 1 and probably 2 more titles if he makes those plays.

That along with the Simms/mack debacle vs Colorado 2001 & Craig Curry's late 4th quarter muffed punt in the '84 Cotton Bowl vs Georgia are just a few that come to mind for some of us "olds".

A&M is playing the NIL game smarter than everyone else. You can bitch and moan all you want, but they are ahead of us. Our OL package is us (finally) trying to catch up.

Yeah if he gets Anderson and Allen after being here just a couple of months aggy and OU should take notice.

Also, isn't Gideon over East Texas?  Wouldn't be surprised to hear in a few months we've moved into the lead for Kip Lewis.

I said as much in the coaches thread, but I was actually pretty bullish that Gideon was going to be a very good recruiter. Young, hungry, highly recommended by Boom, at his alma mater and knows the real story, TX high school inroads, and a pretty standup guy from all accounts who comes off as genuine to families. I was more concerned with Joseph as a recruiter, but with them tag teaming most important recruitments in the secondary I can really see this working. If Gideon turns into a rainmaker with having Bo Davis in the front end, then we could see this train get rolling quickly. We just need Choate to close on some linebackers.

Regarding Biddle, there have been some hints on OU 247 about something recently pushing Biddle away from OU. Unclear if it's on OU or Biddle's end.

Are you suggesting that Texas do the following with Chace Biddle?

Dr Evil Hug GIFs | Tenor

Because that would make the loss of Landon Hullaby sting a lot less (presuming Texas gets both safeties with the initials B.A.).

Yea that 2018 DB class wasn’t elite, but it wasn’t a compete bust either. We’ve gotten good production of 4/6 and in all likelihood will produce 4 NFL players as well.

Sterns: NFL draft 2021

BJ Foster: TBD draft possible in 2022

Jalen Green: Transfer (playing time)

Demarvion: NFL Draft in 2022 likely

Anthony Cook: bustish

D’shawn Jamison: TBD draft possible in 2022

Compared to aggy:

Leon O’Neal: bust

Brian Johnson: bust

Jordan Moore: Transfer

The following class too really. Richardson has been really good but "5-star" Brian Williams can't get on the field and Erick Young hasn't done shit.

I was thinking about that db class the other day in relation to the Brian Williams vs. Tyler Owens internet debate. Both sides have been kind of correct so far, Williams was physically maxed out and not athletic enough to warrant his high rating. Tyler Owens mostly doesn't know how to play football and may be completely miscast as a safety regardless. Two seasons in and neither has shown much as big time prospects.

I'd still rather have Owens over Williams purely based on potential though. Especially if he can be convinced to spin down to lb.

Aggy 247 / Brian Perroni / Who are the next likely Texas A&M commits?

Who are the next likely Texas A&M commits?

Brian Perroni

Texas A&M did not pick up its first commitment in the class of 2022 until mid-January. Now, just over a month later, the Aggies have seven pledges and the class is ranked No. 4 in the country.

Jimbo Fisher and Co. are not even close to being done, though. There will always be a number of prospects that wait until late in the process to make decisions, but the Aggies are likely to add even more members to the class in the near future.

If you are looking for who are likely to be the next few commitments, these are the best bets.

-Fort Bend Marshall WR Chris Marshall: If you want the odds-on favorite to be the next commitment, the 6-foot-3, 185-pound wide receiver is it. Marshall played football for the first time ever this past season and was absolutely dominant. He was a huge riser in the recent Top247 and would provide the Aggies with serious size and athleticism at the position. He has said he wants to wait until after the season to commit, but it would not be a shock to see it happen a lot sooner than that.

-Clear Lake CB Julian Humphrey: The No. 149 overall prospect in the nation per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, Humphrey has set a commitment date of Apr. 1. A&M and Arizona State are standing out the most to him at this point. He plays in the same district as a trio of Aggie commits and is close to them and the Maroon and White would be considered the leader for the four-star defensive back a little over a month before his announcement.

-Humble Summer Creek OL Kelvin Banks: Now a composite five-star prospect, the 6-foot-5, 300-pound junior has been very high on the Aggies since decommitting from Oklahoma State this past summer. Banks is close to the current A&M commitments and really likes Josh Henson. He says he will likely wait until right before the season to commit, but there is always a chance he decides to get it over with. The Aggies are in very good shape.

-Fayetteville, Ark. WR Isaiah Sategna: You saw a new Crystal Ball come in Wednesday afternoon in favor of A&M from Steve Wiltfong. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound speedster plans to play football and run track in college and both sports are recruiting him to Aggieland. His father is a track coach at Arkansas but the four-star prospect is highest on A&M at the moment as he wants to forge his own path. Sategna does not have a commitment timeline at this point but could decide to make a decision at any point.

-Grayson (Ga.) Lambert WR Kojo Antwi: Texas A&M wants to load up with speed at the wide receiver spot and the 6-foot-1, 185-pound Antwi fits that bill. Ranked as the nation’s No. 94 overall prospect, he has a top three of A&M, Georgia and Ohio State. He had planned to make a July decision but with the dead period being extended, may push that back. A&M really wants to get him on campus, even if it just for a self-guided tour. He really likes the Aggie staff and is getting close to the A&M commits.

-Atascocita OT Kam Dewberry: A&M offered the standout four-star as a freshman, after he started for the Class 6A program opposite current Aggie standout Kenyon Green. Dewberry is very high on A&M but plans to wait a little bit before making a decision. However, with all the momentum the team has in the Houston area, it is not out of the question he could decide to want in sooner than expected. Ohio State, Oklahoma and Texas are all major players as well.

-Houston Cy Park LB Harold Perkins: The five-star linebacker is one of the Aggies’ top overall targets, regardless of position. I have a Crystal Ball prediction in favor of A&M and the reason that the 6-foot-2.5, 200-pound junior is not higher on this list is that his current plan is to wait until the Under Armour All-American Game in January to announce. He really likes A&M, though, and is very close to tight end commit Donovan Green, so he is another that could throw his timeline out the window.

Others to Watch: Bremond DT Jaray Bledsoe, Plano John Paul II CB Terrance Brooks, North Shore CB Denver Harris, The Woodlands LB Martrell Harris, Flower Mound Coram Deo DT Jadon Scarlett, Allen OL Neto Umeozulu

He is gonna have to remove banks like he removed Anderson from this version.

So Aggy trying to manufacture some attention with recruits that looked likely to head there way for a while or were silents.

Isn't it obvious?

When a recruit jimbo offered commits to aggy, it's because they were coveted.

When a recruit jimbo offered commits somewhere else, it's clearly bc they were offered but not coveted.

Jimbo might not land every prospect he offers, but he always lands the ones he covets.

60% of the time, it works every time.

This is likely just twitter hype machine stuff but Gerry mentioned that A&M is going to use the combined track/football pitch for him.

Yeah, I know that O’Neal gets clowned here for good reason but I don’t see how he gets labeled a bust. He’s been starting most games for them for the last two years and played a bunch his first year. He was a starter on a team that lost one game and leaned on its defense. He’s got 4 career picks and a bunch of tackles.

He hasn’t lived up to his mouth, for damn sure. But to me a bust is someone who doesn’t see the field or who is a total liability that makes the team demonstrably worse.  A career starter on a good defensive team isn’t a bust.

Ok maybe not bust based on playing time, but you could make a highlight reel that’s an hour long of him getting clowned with bad angles, general lack of speed, and poor tackling. Dude sucks.

“They?” It’s ok to admit who you are here.

Bring up Dylan Haines, and people will go nuts. He came here as a walk on, started a lot of games and made quite a few interceptions for us, yet many folks would label him a bust. He’s more disrespected than Blake Gideon by our fan base.

Leon’s play has come nowhere close to expectations, and is light years off of living up to his finger tapping and gum flapping.

And “lost one game?” C’mon man! We saw the games. Certainly true in a literal sense, but it was a pile of wins against shitty teams. I wouldn’t brag if I won a 100 meter race against a guy with one leg. That LSU game was a retard fight.
