This team sucks. We’re losing 4-1 after leading 1-0.  Our defense is terrible! Not many scoring chances for our offense in this game.

We will NOT finish in the top four in the SEC. I don’t see us making the NCAA tournament, either.

Next year’s coach.  What’s the list?

Starts and ends with Eric Bell, I assume. CDC’s guy at TCU

Bell comes to Austin on Thursday, so hopefully CDC is in attendance.

We can probably aspire to do better than only 8 NCAA appearances in 13 seasons, though TCU had none prior to his arrival.  Double digit wins the last 9 seasons - 3 third round appearances and one fourth-round appearance. 3 regular season conf titles + 1 tournament title

But Texas has no rich soccer tradition either

I guess I shouldn’t rule out CDC pulling a big name, as usual.

Would CDC consider Amanda Cromwell?

He has hired Sark (alcohol issues) and allowed White to hire Earlywhine (accusations of verbal abuse), so assuming she has dealt with her issues...

204-83-26 at UCF (1 losing record in 13 seasons with 10 NCAA appearances)
149-30-20 at UCLA (won the 2013 title in her first season, made 2 more semi-finals appearances and 5 quarterfinals appearances)

She left UCLA to coach the Orlando Pride and the roster she built won the 2022 title for the new coach. It's been 3 years since she was dismissed by the Pride for some bad behavior.

Somebody should figure out how many elite 8s or better every womens coach has made. Even the beach volleyball and womens golf coaches that were recently hired have made an elite 8 correct?

Well, I just tuned in to our game versus Missouri, which is a road game. We are currently getting our asses kicked 2-0 with 15 minutes left to play in the game. We look like an SEC cellar dweller this season, which is unacceptable.

I'm not a soccer guru, so maybe you guys can educate me regarding Angie Kelly. From my amateur view from watching us play on LHN and ESPN+ over the last 8 years, it seems like we wasted good offensive talent such as Cyera Hintzen, Haley Berg, Lexi Missimo, Trinity Byars, etc. Another bothersome thing is that our elite goal scorers seem to get injured way too often and miss crucial games down the stretch. Why is that?

Also, it seems like our roster contains too many short players. For example, Chloe Shimkin and Brooke Martinez are only 5'1", which is way too damn short. Right? Amalia Villareal is a very skilled player, but she really struggles playing against taller players.

Do you agree that we need more players 5'10" and taller?

Missouri 2 Texas 1 after an Ava McDonald goal with 9 minutes remaining.

Missouri 3 Texas 1. A header from one of Missouri's taller players extended the lead. See, this is why we need taller players.

Ange has weaseled her way into contract extensions despite several bad seasons in her Texas career. If she's still the Texas coach next year, there's some collusion happening somewhere. Again, in 10+ years of being Texas coach, she has never made it past the 3rd round of the NCAAs, and her teams have missed several NCAA tournaments as well

We fucking suck.  It’s The University of Texas, in a state filled with good players,.  And we can’t field a competitive soccer team.

Kelly represents Plonsky’s Last Stand. That’s been good enough to keep her job a few times, but those cards have all been played. Outside of a miracle, I assume Texas has a newer, better coach to open the 2026 season.

It's similar to softball, but worse. Connie Clark managed to have two separate pitchers who were the best in the sport at the time, at possibly the position in all of team sports where that can make the biggest difference. But it was always abominable how poorly the program performed overall.

I look forward to this coaching search. This is the kind of thing Del Conte constantly knocks out of the park. I just wonder how many titles our new soccer coach has already won.

I will be so excited when Angela Kelly is gone. I thought we had her on the ropes a couple of times, then she'd Steve Lavin her way into another year.

CDC needs to fire her before the postseason starts. Need to eliminate the possibility of a conference tournament run or NCAA run (yeah, like THAT'S going to happen) making the firing more difficult.

Fire her before the last couple of regular season games to be sure.

Then you risk the interim going on a run, which could lead to a Rodney Terry scenario.

We are #95 in RPI with 2 wins over nobodies

Even talking about the tournament, barring an SEC tournament run (to win it), is laughable.

This is her last year.

I can't believe we had to deal with near on 20 years of Plonsky torching our athletic department.  such stupidity.

Lol that escalated quickly. 3-0 and we’ve managed 2 whole shots

GK must really stink this season.

Texas outshot MSU 10-6. Each team only had three shots on goal. All three were goals for MSU. Woof, that’s bad for Dessieux.

I want to throw up every time I hear CDC or anyone else laud her name.

I understand why CDC does it, but it's still infuriating.

I happened to see the 2nd goal.  oof, it was a slow dribbler into the corner, very bad goalkeeping. missed the first and 3rd goals.

There have been similar goals against her in previous games I’ve seen. She seems to be out of position on her line often. Can’t get to shots that cross her face very well, even slow dribblers like you mentioned.

Just want to repost this.

Because it is true

We are bad.  Like bad bad. Like dead last in the SEC (three way tie in conf standings but we have the fewest wins out of the whole conference)

Only the top 12 teams make the SEC soccer tournament.  We are more likely to miss the SEC tournament than go on a run in the tournament
