August 23, 20196 yr I appreciate that our roster is at the point where our "omg we're doomed" position is still 1) Really good sophomore who should be fully recovered from a minor ding 2) 5-star freshman 3) One of a number of bluechip recruits (playing out of position, but still)
August 23, 20196 yr Author Stinks for Young. Sounds like by the time he is back, he may have been passed over (further) on the depth chart.
August 23, 20196 yr Also, get ready for walk ons! Isn't as horrifying as it used to be. Jaren Watkins, Jarrett Smith and Mason Ramirez have talent

He was already the third string RB and I don't think there is any danger of him falling further considering Kirk Johnson is behind him. That just might mean a few more goal line and short yardage carries for Bam Bam Sam which is suboptimal, especially against La Tech. Edited August 23, 20196 yr by Vertigo
August 23, 20196 yr Unreal. This is why I was so pissed when we lost Noah Cain to Penn St. Still can't believe staff couldn't find a warm body in transfer market.
August 23, 20196 yr Is tjhat RB we signed from Georgia even on campus and enrolled? I know he wasn't going to play this year. Although it would kind of make sense to gray shirt or whatever, because he'd still have 4/5 years to play from first enrollment.

August 23, 20196 yr Get ready to see a walk on get carries at RB. Some of us attending the game might want to prepare as well.*Does an extra 15 mins on the stair stepper*

September 1, 20196 yr Whittington aggravated his groin in the 2nd quarter. "Day to day" according to Herman postgame.

September 2, 20196 yr You just have to laugh at our RB position now. We have four injured running backs now.

September 2, 20196 yr Well, Jake Ehlinger did play some RB at Westlake. That’s a route it would be best to avoid.

September 2, 20196 yr Herman should have been scouring the portal and JUCOs for a RB this offseason. Huge miss
September 2, 20196 yr Yeah, I get that this is horrible luck, but it is also a large dose of horrible roster management as well. Drayton seems like he really sucks.

September 2, 20196 yr We currently have one scholarship RB until October. How on earth would we be able to redshirt Whittington if he’s ready to play in four weeks.
September 2, 20196 yr Rolled the dice from a roster management position and burned badly. Absolutely should have found a RB in the portal or convinced someone not to transfer as soon as we lost recruitment of Cain.

Whit is a guy that will, unfortunately, struggle with injury throughout his career. His body is so tightly wound that he'll be subject the things like strains. I think you have to keep him out until next year. Then you've got the opportunity to break Bijan in slowly with a fully healthy backup to KI

September 2, 20196 yr We currently have one scholarship RB until October. How on earth would we be able to redshirt Whittington if he’s ready to play in four weeks. And that one scholly RB isn’t 100% either. Were there any JUCO and transfer RBs at the caliber of Watson this year? Honestly, it’s hard for us to recruit many grad transfers due to enrollment requirements. However this is another lesson learned by this staff that you can never have too many weapons.

September 2, 20196 yr 19 minutes ago, 6th Street said: Herman should have been scouring the portal and JUCOs for a RB this offseason. Huge miss Hindsight is 20/20
September 2, 20196 yr 3 minutes ago, ztejas said: Hindsight is 20/20 Yeah but plenty of people have been concerned about this basically from the point we lost the Cain recruitment. Then it was a massive concern after Derrian Brown. Horrible luck, no doubt, but also a fuckup to come into fall camp with 4 scholarship RB's, one of which, has never been healthy his entire career.
September 2, 20196 yr 4 minutes ago, ztejas said: Hindsight is 20/20 This is not 'hindsight', plenty of people have dogged Drayton on this for ages. Even if Derrian Brown hadn't had that freak medical issue, we would still be in a very precarious position at RB. RBs get injured. A lot. It's not 'bad luck' or 'hindsight', it's the reality of the position. Foreman leaving and Porter turning out to be a bust began the downhill slide at the position.

September 2, 20196 yr 13 minutes ago, Michael Knight said: We had 6 guys at RB, how many do you think we need Ingram - constantly dinged up his freshman year Whittington - known groin issue (although I guess the staff didn't know it was that bad), build that is somewhat susceptible to injury with his playing style Young - no significant injury history, this one was just shit luck Kirk Johnson - made of glass Brown - suffered stroke early in the calendar year Ramirez - walk-on given a scholarship in fall camp We had "6 guys" in name only.
September 2, 20196 yr Whittington may be too good of a player to Redshirt... 3yr outstanding athlete that leaves early for NFL... I'd rather get two outstanding years and write the first off making sure he gets 100 percent healthy than rush him and permanently stunt his career arc.Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
September 2, 20196 yr Shaggy Surly complaining about moving Roschon to RB and complaining about not having enough healthy RBs... yep, yep.
