Dudes, aggy will fuck this up. It's in their nature. What are they, 1-9 when Game Day is in town? Now it's fixing to be 1-10. Stop rubbing your pussies, you'll sound the @Pimphand alarm.

South Bend makes College Station look like Austin…

I hung on all the reviews of that era from both Shaggys and Landthieves.  No one, until this week, complained about the ND campus.

South Bend as a city only recently began to regrow an 'identity' as a town.  Between Studabaker and about 2010 it was just a bedroom community located near ND.

I am more worried about Elko than A&M talent in the nil era.  At Duke last year, he beat Clemson and had us dead to rights but for a 4th and 16 scramble.

Also we mauled our current qb Leonard at the 4:00 min mark.

This isn’t the NFL. Most college teams are very limited on offense. Take away one of their strengths, they fail to make in game adjustments, and you have a rock fight. That said, SEC defenses can do exactly the same thing to aggy. Texas has the offensive talent to stay out of the rock fight, but many teams on aggy’s schedule do not. 8-4 feels right because of course, but I think aggy will win a couple Iowa type games. I hope Denbrock has something for them.

Elko’s second offseason will be interesting. If he tears down the roster and rebuilds it with a respectable 30 player class of 2025 recruits, they might be on the right track for rebuild. But if the boosters make him keep the talented locker room cancers because of contracts, I think it will stunt their growth.

You are an SEC team now, you root for your whatever-brethren.

This article's argument sums up how dumb college football has become.  You should care because ND@A&M might get weighed against in the race for an also-ran playoff slot worth for maybe a 5% shot at the national title.

"That’s seven spots gone. Five to go.

∎ From here, the likeliest scenario is either Notre Dame grabs an at-large spot and leaves about nine SEC teams fighting for the remaining four bids, or the Irish suffer at least a couple of losses, and they’re left to wonder, oh, what could have been if not for a Week 1 loss to the Aggies?"

You seem big mad since you were outed as an aggy when your Jesus Jinbo was scooping up all that talent and doing what aggy does best...Nothing. All while pretending to be scared that aggy was about to do big things. Big. Things.

Maybe this is the year that you and your corps bunk mates can pass that jar around and drink up that liquid and show us sips what's up! Aggy to the NC and Weigman for Heisman.

This. Is. The. Year.

They call it "squeeze ags". Their little cosplay aggy groupies grab their own nuts and squeeze them in order to feel the pain of the football team in sympathetic support at key moments.

Everything in that explanation is 100% real. Go call Ripley's.

For real for real. You'll be in for a real treat come September, @notre dame joe. Directions to the stadium won't even be necessary!

By the 4th quarter most corps members will be cryptorchid against Notre Dame.

Sadly it is, and very very real. The unfortunate part is this practice somehow doesn't prevent them from producing aggy spawn who are brainwashed into the cult from birth.

“Squeeze, Ags!’’ These yell leaders are—yes, it’s true—squeezing their privates in order to share pain with the team on the football field. Nobody knows who first came up with this idea, but it’s never caught on with anyone but Aggies.

Oh, it's a thing. And it's spectacular.

Pat is already doing his Friday show on location at the Game Day site, right? Just have him film a 30 minute lead in to Game Day. Pat’s show at 830. Game Day starts at 9. This so easy and organic that ESPN will definitely bungle it.

Pat McAfee remains unsigned to return to 'College GameDay'

In news that will worry some and delight others, the most polarizing personality in college football is not yet under contract.

ZACH BARNETT       JUN 18, 2024

In news that will worry some College GameDay viewers and delight others, Andrew Marchand of The Athletic reported Tuesday that Pat McAfee has not signed a contract to return to GameDay with the 2024 season now just two months away.

McAfee joined GameDay in Week 2 of 2022, and in May of 2023 the network reached an agreement to license his daily talkshow.

McAfee put his future with GameDay in doubt last October when The Athletic published a reader's poll that found nearly half of respondents did not enjoy his presence on sports television's preeminent pre-game show. This, of course, is part of McAfee's appeal to ESPN: those who like him tend to love him, those who don't tend to hate him. Either way, polarization sells on television.

Comments over his two years on the show indicated McAfee does not understand college football, an odd predicament given his placement on a college football television show. The Athletic poll followed McAfee picking a fight with Washington State fans, of all people, last October. Anyone even partially familiar with GameDay knows Wazzu fans have a special place in the show's lore. McAfee, on his weekday show, told Washington State fans to "shut up" and "f*** off."

Still, it would be a shock if McAfee does not return given that his biggest fan is the star of GameDay's show. Kirk Herbstreit came to McAfee's defense following The Athletic poll, and said this on McAfee's show last December:

“I’m just going to say this right now. If you dare even think of leaving “College GameDay,” I’m leaving with you. I am. I am. I’m dead serious. ...

I’m not kissing your ass. I’m not just telling you that - and I told you this a lot - that you’ve changed my experience. I work really hard with these three projects I’m on. I’m on GameDay, the Thursday night game with Al (Michaels) and Saturday with Chris (Fowler). You’ve really changed the approach, the energy, not just on the set, but like the week. I’m having a blast. ... It’s like being on a team where you get good energy.”

New GameDay cast member Nick Saban also had a weekly appearance on McAfee's show last fall, an arrangement that figures to continue now that Saban is an ESPN employee.

McAfee told Herbstreit on the air last December he'll be back. He's got 10 weeks to put pen to paper until GameDay begins its 38th season Aug. 24 in Dublin, Ireland, for Florida State-Georgia Tech.

I hate crowded desks on pregame shows. Why do they need Pat on Game Day when they have Saban? Give him a Game Day lead in show + his daily show and everybody is happy. But again it’s ESPN, so I  fully expect them to alienate Pat.

I don’t buy the Herbie and Pat duo bullshit. That’s exactly what Herbie would say to support an embattled colleague. He’s not walking away from fame and fortune to show solidarity with Pat.

Saban is a smart, smart hire. The olds LOVE him, and the youths respect him. I’m sure his favorability rating on Game Day will be north of 80%.

He’ll never be as funny as Corso, but I think he can approach him in likability, and of course Saban is infinitely more knowledgeable about the game. Natural replacement. I wish Coach well.

I’ve said it before and will say it again. The headgear is iconic. Corso is going away. Saban is replacing him as the coach of the desk. McAfee is replacing him as the showman/clown and will do the headgear.

You’ll have Desmond, Rece, Saban, McAfee, and Herby manning the desk once Corso ride off into the sunset.

Pat is crazy. Keep him on his own show and let him keep doing commentary with WWE. He fits them better.

This board rags on ESPiN. A lot. And it’s mostly deserved. With this clown, however, the blame has to go to the idiots who watch him. The fact that he’s even being considered for the once-iconic College Gameday is terribly depressing. H. L. Mencken is generally credited with the comment, “No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public.” Substituting “TV viewers” for “American public” brings things into clear focus. I’m told that Mack a-Feet's Nielsen Ratings in B-CS and other trailer parks are through the roof. In areas with intelligence and taste, however, not so much.

Pat McAfee Is OFFICIALLY Back With College GameDay, Explains The Drama Around The Decision

I may be in the minority but I like his energy even though he is considerably douchie. Or is it douchy? No idea but he does some fun stuff on there especially the field goal thing where he makes fun of bad kicks.

Yeah, I'm tired of Corso and like McAfee ok especially on sidelines during games...

I gave nice clean options for both parties upthread, and they do this. Oh well, still the best way to spend that tricky 10am to 11am hour.

There’s plenty of people that like him or his show he started on his own wouldn’t have gotten such a huge following on YouTube that ESPN signed him to a huge contract.  Is that show too much for me to watch all the time, yes.  On gameday though in small doses it doesn’t bother me and college kids love it for the most part.  Most of the complaining about him is old men yelling at clouds because things are different now.

Edited by Hook1997

David Pollack sits by the phone waiting for a call that will never come all the while not eating a single carb.

Meh, I’m an old guy who has watched GameDay since its inception. Change is nothing new.
Beano Cook, Tim Brando and Lee Corso were nothing like the Fowler years that followed, nor the Rece Davis era that followed that. Not to mention that Craig James, Trev Albert’s, and many others had time on the show. So lineup changes are pretty commonplace.

ESPN is in the entertainment business. It is the first word in the acronym. Changing the lineup is part of the process/evolution, and bringing Pat onboard is just another iteration of that process. I respect the guy. He played in the league, and has built his brand.

What has changed is the saturation. In the late 80’s they were the only game in town. No internet, and cable TV was still growing.
In today’s market there are many options for eyeballs. They almost have to be a little louder, a little more over the top just to keep/maintain their market share. Pat gives them some of that.

Now, Tim Rinaldi, they can jettison his ass any fucking time.
