Got a call from the German cousin and she told me that my Godson's Borussia Mönchengladbach U-19 team won yesterday so they qualified for the youth version of next year's Champions League. And, he was

Zenit currently thru....if lyon draws they move on with zenit down 2-0

Lille with a late goal to add to the pressure in group h

Lyon gets equalizer....thru currently

4 mins left in most games and a goal can change things all over the groups

Barca goes up 2-1 on Inter.  That should secure the 2nd spot for Dortmund.

Chelsea and Valencia both close it out and advance.  Ajax out.

Who'da thunk.

Group winners : Liverpool , PSG , Barca , Bayern , Valencia , Liepzig , Juventus , and city

Runner-ups : Spurs , Chelsea , Dortmund , Napoli , Lyon , Real..... Atletico/Leverkusen , and Shakhtar/Zagreb

There won't be nearly as much drama tomorrow with 6 or 8 spots locked in.

Atalanta is still alive for that spot too

EPL - 4

La Liga - 3 maybe 4

Bund - 3 maybe 4

Serie A - 2

Ligue 1 - 2

Else - 1

Come in 2nd in your group, fire your manager. Though they are in 7th in Serie A.

This might be Mo Salah's most ridiculous goal ever

The inside of the foot and not the outside is what made this ridiculous.

Atletico go up 1-0.  They are in with a win.  Leverkusen need a win and an Atletico loss or draw.

Despite being one of the two games that matter, Atletico isn't on TV but the meaningless Real - Bruges game is.

Told ya

Yeah, i didnt think they had a chance with them losing those 3 early

Good for them

No team outside of the top 5 leagues made the knockout rounds.

EPL - 2 winners, 2 runners up

La Liga - 2 winners, 2 runners up

Bundesliga - 2 winners, 1 runner up

Serie A - 1 winner, 2 runners up

Ligue 1 - 1 winner, 1 runner up

It's really going to set the next round. So many teams can't play other teams because of Group/League rules in the first knockout round.

Well lets play the elimination game then...

Liverpool: dortmund:real:atletico:atalanta:lyon

Psg: not lyon : not real

Barca:
chelsea:spurs:napoli:atalanta:lyon

Bayern: not spurs : not dortmund

City:
napoli:atletico:dortmund:real:lyon

Juventus:
chelsea:spurs:dortmund:real:lyon

Valencia: spurs:napoli:atalanta:dortmund:lyon

Liepzig: not dortmund : not lyon

My guess....
Liverpool v real
Barca v chelsea
Bayern v lyon
Juventus v spurs
Psg v napoli
Valencia v atalanta
City v dortmund
Liepzig v atletico

Would be some fun matches with a few upset possibilities

Chelsea v PSG (because we always get PSG)

Real v Atalanta (because cheats)

Atletico v Liverpool

Dortmund v Valencia

Spurs v Real (because Mou)

Napoli v Barca

Liepzig v Juventus

Bayern V Lyon

You have Real twice and one time as a group winner, I think you meant

Barca - Atalanta because uefalona

Oh boo me. I forgot about that City team too.

And not to mention real and spurs are in pot 2................................................... And so is atalanta

Liepzig and Juventus are both in pot 1

It's really quite simple to match 8v8

The draw is on Monday? I feel like it's always been on a Friday.

The draw has already happened behind the scenes. They are just waiting until Monday to post it.

Here’s all of the matchups

Borussia Dortmund vs. Paris Saint-Germain

Real Madrid vs. Manchester City

Atalanta vs. Valencia

Atletico Madrid vs. Liverpool

Chelsea vs. Bayern Munich

Lyon vs. Juventus

Tottenham vs. RB Leipzig

Napoli vs. Barcelona

Of course Uefalona get Napoli.

Outside of the bullshit, there are some juicy matchups.

ManC is gonna eat Real... unless Ramos can do some damage early. Also the one bonus of finishing 2nd, starting at home in the knockout I feel is better in terms of away goals and knowing what you gotta do on the road

Who I'll be rooting for, the other non-bolded games, I'm not sure I either care or can bring myself to root one way or the other.

Lots of good matchups...im going to root for all pot 2 teams except atletico of course

After playing psg, bayern and barca last year i'll take easiest path to #7 as possible

With somebody else taking care of napoli for us

  • 1 month later...

Its back....liverpool, barca, juventus, bayern, valencia, spurs, real and psg i think move on

Would like Dortmund but not sure if they will

I am ready for my predictions:

Borussia Dortmund vs. Paris Saint-Germain- tough call but going with the logic choice

Real Madrid vs. Manchester City- RM playing their best football since their victory vs Liverpool in the CL final. Man City playing their worst football under Guardiola.

Atalanta vs. Valencia- Valencia eliminated Ajax, Valencia is playing well in La Liga

Atletico Madrid vs. Liverpool- Liverpool is the best team in the world. I do have to say, Atletico was probably their toughest matchup.

Chelsea vs. Bayern Munich- going with logic here again but Chelsea can pull it off

Lyon vs. Juventus- see Chelsea vs BM

Tottenham vs. RB Leipzig- Leipzig is 1 point behind Bayern Munich in Bundesliga... that's all I have.

Napoli vs. Barcelona- Barcelona is playing their worst football in the Messi era.... yup... plus no Luis Suarez... no Dembele.

fair.  but he was there last year and they fucking choked a 2-0 lead coming home to a HORRIBLE man u team.  worse then their 5 goal choke against barca.  they have gotten out of the round of 16 one time since 2014 and lost in the round of 16 in all the other seasons...often in humiliating choking fashion.

that said, mbappe is my favorite player to watch.  those games against dortmund should be some high-flying entertainment given what each team brings.

Borussia Dortmund vs. Paris Saint-Germain

Real Madrid vs. Manchester City

Atalanta vs. Valencia

Chelsea vs. Bayern Munich

Lyon vs. Juventus

Tottenham vs. RB Leipzig

Napoli vs. Barcelona

And for the big upset prediction:

Atletico Madrid vs. Liverpool

Madrid defends stoutly and Pool have trouble scoring with Mane still out/recovering from injury.  It's an unexpectedly low scoring affair that Aleti wins either by 1 goal or by away goals.

FYI - Mane is back.  Guessing he starts and plays ~60 or comes in at the 60th tomorrow.

Mane will play tomorrow and Liverpool scored 6 goals in the 2 league games when he was out.

Well then fuck my prediction.  I recently read that he's still questionable.
