August 20, 20196 yr Let's see if it can last longer than round 1. They're teasing the team names, and will be dropping them officially on August 21, at 12:30. So far they released a small portion of each logo, but it does show the upcoming team colors. Some color schemes look garish to me, light green and bright red? crimson with orange? two toned green with dark yellow? Who thought these up? So best guesses on which color/logo goes with which team? Here's my best guess (from left-right, top to bottom): 1. Dallas - #7 2. Houston - #8 3. LA - #4 4. NY - #3 5. Saint Louis - #6 6. Seattle - #1 7. Tampa Bay - #5 8. Washington D.C. - #2 Edited August 20, 20196 yr by MillerEP
August 20, 20196 yr 1, 5 and 8 look likes eyes. I’ll be rooting for whoever team 3 belongs too. Black/grey.
August 20, 20196 yr Would it kill a minor league to just have decent names for once? Something plural and local will always be better than Blaze or Crew or Wind or whatever bullshit they usually concoct.

El Paso Chihuahuas New Orleans Baby Cakes Omaha Storm Chasers Akron Rubber Ducks Binghamton Rumble Ponies Richmond Flying Squirrels Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp Montgomery Biscuits (one of my personal favorites) Amarillo Sod Poodles I left several out, and didn't get to single A. MiLB does something right.
August 20, 20196 yr Dallas - Douches LA - Blanks Washington DC - Representatives St. Louis - Ramming Cardinals
August 20, 20196 yr From the teasers they look likely to be bad, too busy, too many colors, and I can't wait to see the unis.

August 20, 20196 yr So 7 of 8 teams are going to be in cities that have NFL teams? This may fail even faster than that one earlier this year did.

Especially since the Dallas team is set to play in the Rangers' baseball stadium (the old one) in Arlington. It's enough of a pain in the ass to go there for the Cowboys, but at least it's the Cowboys. I wouldn't waste the time and traffic to go to Arlington for minor league football. They should play at SMU or one of the mega high schools closer to Dallas's city center. You know, places that might be worth going to for a day of not just football but other stuff that's not Walmart or Six Flags.

August 21, 20196 yr So we're ripping off the Cowboys and Oilers, I see. And Seattle Puff the Magic Dragons seems fitting.
August 21, 20196 yr We'll see if there are court issues but that Houston design should sell pretty damn well locally.

August 21, 20196 yr I'm pumped! I'll buy a shitload of Renegade gear and I guess donate it to charity once they go out of business in 2021
August 21, 20196 yr Reading that list of terrible team names, it sounds more like an eSports league. Defenders? Guardians? Vipers? Dragons? Oof.
August 21, 20196 yr Author Well the owner is a wrestling magnate, so it's no surprise they have over the top names. The old oilers fan in me likes the roughneck logo though. Also looked like I guessed wrong on each team colors.
August 21, 20196 yr Count me in as another old Oilers fan liking the Roughneck logo. The rest are meh at best.
August 21, 20196 yr The pervasion of soccer has absolutely ruined team mascots & jerseys. Seems like every new team in any sport has a stupid mascot and bland soccer style jerseys/logos.
August 21, 20196 yr Author Guardians, defenders, dragons, battlehawks, vipers... Only legit name up there is probably wild cats and roughnecks...renegades is passable They should've let the public vote, instead of pulling random pronouns out of a hat.

August 21, 20196 yr I fucking love the Houston Roughnecks logo and name. Really like how they incorporated the star on top of the San Jacinto monument in the logo. This is excellent graphic design. Wish the Rockets would have hired these graphic designers to revamp their logo instead of just adding a gray and black basketball and keeping the dripping blood red R. I am totally buying some Roughnecks gear. Edited August 21, 20196 yr by Iconoclast Texan

August 21, 20196 yr When I hear the phrase "Deep in the Heart of Texas" I don't really think of Dallas. But go ahead million dollar marketing genius.
