Buddy that loves Michigan is so frustrated.  He doesn't want Sherrone Moore -- he wanted DeBoer.

He still can't believe Kalen went to Bama.  He expects Michigan to be looking for another new coach in 2-3 years.  😋

We can relate. We know what it's like being forced to hire the successful interim coach.

Good luck with Rodney Terry, err Sherrone Moore

RT cry about horns down

SM literally cry post game

I hope Michigan does a real coaching search but given their history Rich Rod/Hoke I am not sure it will matter.

My ideal candidate would be to hire Andy Kotelnicki

A) I think he's awesome
B) It would be good to get him out of Pedo State

If I was the one pulling the strings at Michigan, I’d make both the KSU and KU coaches tell me no, prior to going any further in the searching.

Michigan, IMO, is too big of a job to just settle on a staffer, with no “true” HC’ing responsibilities and requirements. SM can always be retained, given some “co-title,” but this just isn’t a getting your feet wet job. They did that after Rich Rod.

Urban Meyer, just to fuck with Ohio State.

Matt Campbell come on down.

Wow. I can’t believe they went with the interim coach.  I can’t believe their AD is this incompetent. Maybe Harbaugh strung them along or something made them believe he was staying. They fucked.

The Big Ten is a pile of shit. Harbaugh leaving means 2024 is going to be Ohio State and Oregon slap fighting each other for the title. It’s an easier path to the playoff when the entire conference fucking sucks.

It has worked out fine for them in the past.
Gary Moeller was a staffer for Schembechler (3 year OC).
Lloyd Carr was a staffer for Schembechler (3 year DC) and Moeller (4 year DC) - 6-7 vs. tOSU.

Rich Rod had no connection and was a disaster - and was 0-3 against tOSU.

Hoke coached under Carr and had progressively worse seasons as his tenure advanced. 1-3 vs. tOSU did not help.

Harbaugh - a Michigan man - turned Hoke's recruits into 10-game winners.  Harbaugh was 3-5 against tOSU after starting 0-5.

Sherrone will be fine.

So you’re saying, more or less, that:

How do you fuck this up so bad as an athletic director. You just won the natty. Give him what he wanted in December and there is a chance he is still the coach.

Trying to give your Top 3 of “all times” program’s a little “respect” by saying they shouldn’t just go with the current unproven, as a HC, on staff even though he had “partial” control this year. Being the actual HC is a whole new can of worms.

Just MO, best of luck going forward!

Hook’em!!!

Who’s a better hire than Sherrone at this point?  Honest question.

Frankly, I don’t give a shit and hope they smoother themselves in it like we did with Mack from 2010 to 2021!

We’ll all see their results come the 2nd week of the 2024 season!

Hook’em!!!

If UM doesn’t at least put “feelers” out to see who might be interested in coaching a MFng Top collegiate football program they are doing their fan base a disservice - IMO.

Hook’em!!!

Dude, our job is to act indignant if they even consider doing anything other than promoting the assistant.

Other than a losing record to Ohio State you mean.

The issue right now is that there is not enough time to really do much. If they keep Sherrone, they will keep the majority of the team in tact. If they go with anyone other than Sherrone there will be an exodus that makes Bama's portal hopping after Saban left look like a hiccup.

You can't really make a decision strictly focused on one year, but Michigan is going to be really good again next year. Their defense will be number 1 in the country again, and they return the battery of the offense with Loveland, Edwards, Mullings and an experienced O-Line. They pick anyone but Sherrone, and they go from competing for the B1G and getting into the playoff to a full on rebuild.

The timing sucks because I really believe that if he got to pick between Michigan and Bama that Deboer would be coaching Michigan. Following Harbaugh is shitty, but following Saban is lunacy. If it was me, I would throw a line out to Lanning and make him say no and post another cute video. Maybe Jedd Fisch since he has ties.

Give Sherrone 5 years. He has to at least perform to the Shaw post-harbaugh level to stay longer, and then you pray that there isn't a drop off like Shaw had after the first 6 years.

3 Big 10 championships, and what would likely be 4 playoff appearances would get the job done.

It is a high bar for sure but, coming off a 15-0 championship, it should be.

I am certainly not saying you are wrong - but other than the SEC, what conference isn't shitty? Big 12 - LOL, PAC 2/Mountain West BigLOL, ACC - falling apart but smaller LOL,

Conference reaillignment summary below (quoted to stop long-cat post
https://biggameusa.com/uncategorized/2024-college-football-conference-changes.html

Quote

ACC (Atlantic Coast Conference)

Incoming Teams:

Cal, Stanford, SMU

Outgoing Teams:

N/A

2024 ACC TEAMS:

  • Cal
  • Stanford
  • SMU
  • Boston College
  • Duke
  • Clemson
  • Florida State
  • Georgia Tech
  • Miami
  • Louisville
  • North Carolina
  • Notre Dame (non-football)
  • NC State
  • Syracuse
  • Pittsburgh
  • Virginia
  • Virginia Tech
  • Wake Forest

Insight: The recent college football conference changes showcase concerns among ACC members regarding revenue generation in current market conditions. In response, the ACC has added teams to help boost income from ESPN, aiming to quell discontent. Stanford and Cal seek an escape from the disintegrating Pac-12, while SMU aspires to join the Power Five, focusing on prestige over immediate financial gains. The ACC’s moves extend beyond basic strategy, tapping into media-rich markets in San Francisco and the Metroplex by including Cal, SMU, and Stanford.

Big 12

Incoming Teams: Arizona State, Arizona, Colorado, Utah

Outgoing Teams: Oklahoma and Texas

2024 BIG 12 TEAMS:

  • Houston
  • BYU
  • Cincinnati
  • Oklahoma State
  • TCU
  • UCF
  • Kansas
  • Kansas State
  • Utah
  • Colorado
  • West Virginia
  • Iowa State
  • Baylor
  • Arizona
  • Arizona State

Insight: In response to the departure of Oklahoma and Texas to the SEC for the upcoming 2024 college football season, the Big 12 has taken an assertive stance. The conference added three former AAC programs and BYU initially. This offseason, the Big 12 extended their reach by recruiting four pac-12 brands, expanding their presence strategically across all four time zones. These moves are a response to the significant loss of marquee teams, positioning the Big 12 for a geographically diverse future in college football.

Big 10

Incoming Teams:

UCLA, USC, Washington, Oregon

Outgoing Teams:

N/A

2024 BIG 10 TEAMS:

  • Ohio State
  • Michigan
  • Penn State
  • Michigan State
  • Indiana
  • Purdue
  • Wisconsin
  • Iowa
  • Nebraska
  • Minnesota
  • Rutgers
  • USC
  • UCLA
  • Oregon
  • Rutgers
  • Maryland
  • Washington
  • Illinois
  • Northwestern

Insight: The Big 10 is also a significant player in realignment for the upcoming college football season. They are welcoming four brand new teams to their conference, making one of the most powerful moves in the history of realignment in 2024, pushing the total size of their conference to 18 teams. More announcements are expected to come in future divisions.

Pac-12

Incoming Teams:

N/A

Outgoing Teams:

USC, Oregon, UCLA, Washington, Arizona State, Cal, Arizona, Colorado, Stanford, Utah.

2024 PAC-12 TEAMS:

  • Washington State
  • Oregon State

Insight: The most significant reason Pac-12 is witnessing a historic exodus this season is serious mismanagement at the conference’s top. In addition to the conference failing to hold everything together, most of its present members also got a competitive media deal in 2024. This massive shift has destroyed the Conference of Champions.

SEC

Incoming Teams:

Oklahoma and Texas

Outgoing Teams:

N/A

2024 SEC TEAMS:

  • Oklahoma
  • Texas
  • Alabama
  • Arkansas
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • LSU
  • Kentucky
  • Auburn
  • Miss. State,
  • Ole Miss
  • Missouri
  • South Carolina
  • Tennessee,
  • Vanderbilt
  • Texas A&M

Insight: After welcoming two new teams from the Big 12 in 2012, the SEC is calling in Texas and Oklahoma in the upcoming season. This inclusion offers the Big 12 a new drive for revenue, access to Longhorn Network, a marquee rivalry game, new media markets, etc.

After the huge cheating scandal there was no way he was staying in CFB.

They're in a rough spot, kind of how Texas basketball was last spring but even worse. Moore screams Rodney Terry level to me but with no head coaching experience he's a complete wild card. Chances have to be a lot greater he makes a lot of mistakes and fucks stuff up out of inexperience than he's the next great coach.

No chance that’s a real quote. Riley is just a season removed from getting his shit fucked by Tulane.

Fake, but what's factual is if anyone saw Riley and his brisket coming to a dinner party, they'd find an excuse to leave.

I have a proposal for @immamac

- auto-correct natty to NC or national championship when a post is submitted

- add 10 negs to the post.

- extra-credit: keep natty counts for each poster and increase the negs by 10 for each occurrence.

They Rodney Terry'd they self.

His contract info is released. It’s a 5 year deal starting at $5.5 million, increasing by $500k every year, not counting performance incentives. Seems more than easy to buy out if things go south. The opposite of the jimbo deal.

OU kicked our ass more often than not for the better part of two decades with coaches with no prior HC experience.

How did Mack's decade headstart of HC experience work out for him in the early 2000s against ole bag o dicks? Charlie and mensa both had HC experience. Dabo was a fucking WR coach. Unless the guy has a proven track record of doing it the highest level, these things are a crap shoot no matter who you hire.

No surprise hiring Sherrone, but it feels like Michigan football is headed thru another rough patch for awhile.  Having a 12 team playoff now, and seeing Michigan possibly missing it for the next 3 years will be tough for wolverine fans.

It feels like they just kicked the can down the road 3 years to a rebuild and hiring a quality new head coach.

I guess they needed a sacrificial lamb and so here we go.

I think that a difference between the Moore and Terry situation is Moore doesn't come with a history of mediocre head coaching results in previous stops.  So guess we will see.

Just the crying

Man the michigan hate is so strong here. It is what it is. Hope he doesn’t fail but we won a National Championship I’ll be happy for a while now

Don't hate Michigan... just didn't like Harbaugh and all of his bullshit drama.

If Sherrone doesn't do well, don't act surprised...

You say that now, but let's see how you feel after one or two mediocre years.
