Seriously?

I think Casablanca and Citizen Kane are among the 10 best movies ever made, but they're not among my 10 favorite movies.

Without putting in much thought:

The Big Lebowski
All the President’s Men
The Sting
The Right Stuff
Apollo 13
Step Brothers
Slap Shot
Unforgiven
The Dark Knight
Millers Crossing

Saving Private Ryan
Inglorious Basterds
Big Lebowski
Top Gun
Blue Crush
Shawshank Redemption
Cast Away
Hunt for Red October
Goodfellas
No Country for Old Men

Holy Grail

Dead Poet's Society

Princess Bride

Usual Suspects

Coming to America

Pulp Fiction

To Kill A Mockingbird

Friday

Stand By Me

My Cousin Vinny

Terminator 2: Judgment Day

The Silence of the Lambs

Point Break

Cape Fear

Hook

The Addams Family

Beauty and the Beast

My Girl

Thelma & Louise

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves

I've got at least two no one else is going to choose and y'all are gonna hate on me:

The Graduate

Raising Arizona

Field of Dreams

Bull Durham

Blood Simple

Juno

Shawshank

Life of Brian

Good Will Hunting

A League of Their Own

All good selections.  I probably like Life of Brian better than Holy Grail actually, but Holy Grail is more quotable.

Children of Men

About Time

La Vie Rêvée des Anges

Godfather

Red

Gladiator

Fight Club

Lawrence of Arabia

Hot Fuzz

Truman Show/Dark City (they're the same movie)

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou

The Fifth Element

The Empire Strikes Back

The Matrix

Dark City

Magnolia

2001

Alien

The Big Lebowski

Dumb and Dumber

1. The Godfather

2. Slap Shot

3. Gladiator

4. The Departed

5. Caddyshack

6. The Empire Strikes Back

7. The Longest Yard - 1974

8. Fletch/Fletch Lives

9. Goodfellas

10. Blow

My list would change based on my mood.  Sometimes I just want to laugh for 90 minutes.  Sometimes I want to sit and watch a heavy movie for 150 min and eat popcorn and drink beer.  I could categorize into 3 main genres, with no particular order for the movies in them,

Comedy: Naked Gun, 3 Amigos, Animal House, Coming to America, Tommy Boy

Drama: Godfather 1 and 2, Shawshank, Scent of a Woman, Field of Dreams, Usual Suspects

Action: Raiders, Episodes 4 and 5, Red October, Beverly Hills Cop, Shooter (I have no idea why I love this movie so much but I can't stop watching when it comes on)

Die Hard

Predator

Hunt for Red October (hell of a 3 movie run for John McTiernan)

True Lies

Point Break

John Wick

Matrix

A Few Good Men

Princess Bride

Braveheart/Apocalypto (pick your favorite "Mel Gibson rewrites history" movie)

Edited by aggie08

Really, really hard to pick 10, but I’ll take a shot. In no particular order:

Apocalypse Now
Taxi Driver
Dazed and Confused
Fandango
The Right Stuff
Friday
The Godfather 2
The Big Lebowski
Raiders of the Lost Ark
No Country for Old Men

Shit Jeremiah Johnson, The Cowboys, Paths Of Glory, Casablanca, the list could go on.

Fuck.  Substitute Memento for Full Metal Jacket.  Now it’s perfect.

There's no way I could narrow down a list of ten. Whatever the list, it would include Almost Famous, The Adventures of Robin Hood, Raising Arizona, and Three Amigos. Probably Monty Python & The Holy Grail (which would've been at or near the top of the list four decades ago, I've just seen it so many times over the years). After that there are just too many candidates competing for the remaining spots.

I'd probably have to give one of them to The Grateful Dead Movie.

1. Holy Grail

2. Blazing Saddles

3. Schindler's List

4. Good Will Hunting

5. Night Shift

6. The Departed

7. Gone Baby Gone

8. Big Jake

9. The Magnificent Seven

10. Sling Blade

  1. The Searchers
  2. Seven Samurai
  3. Casablanca
  4. Boogie Nights
  5. Big Lebowski
  6. North by Northwest
  7. Dr Strangelove
  8. The Wild Bunch
  9. Lawrence of Arabia
  10. Citizen Kane

The Last of the Mohicans

The Empire Stikes Back

Amadeus

Bourne series(Damon)

Catch me if you can

Stepbrothers

The Lost Boys

Stand By Me

Donnie Darko

Bladerunner

Not in order, somewhat off the top of my head, and having read some of your lists:

Star Wars

Barcelona

Isle of Dogs

That Thing You Do

Raiders of the Lost Ark

Office Space

Groundhog Day

Love Actually

Good Will Hunting

Fast Times at Ridgemont High
