When I saw the news today Shaggy was my first thought. While I unfortunately don't lurk here I did want to register to pay my respects to the Shag and to Eddie Money.

Whenever "Take Me Home Tonight" randomly hits my iTunes or radio it brings back great memories of college in my early 20s and of The Shag in my early 30s... I legitimately believe its the greatest song of the 1980s in terms of how well it represents the era.

I chose the name EddieMoney for my handle because I wanted my persona to be a real person who was familiar, easy to relate to, and sounded good.

Work has gotten in the way of internetting these days... If you want to stay in touch I'm fairly active from a ticketing industry perspective on Twitter... PRyanTexas

Anyway, thank you for thinking about me. I really loved my time on The Shag.

RIP to Eddie Money. A man who provided great times and great tunes

Good hearing from you!

He always looked like the love child of Rodney Dangerfield and Judd Nelson.

He could sing, though.

Holy shit. That's EXACTLY what he looks looked like. That video above of him on Letterman has got to be some of the most awkward white rock star with no rhythm or moves "dancing" ever.

The guy had some solid songs. I'm pretty sure ever Camaro that Chevy sold between '78 - '81 came with an Eddie Money cassette pre-installed in the tape deck. I stumbled across his blog a few years ago & it was a bit of a hoot. He'd post little snippets about being on the road, trying to quit smoking, and hoping people would come see him at some Indian casino or state fair. He'd sign off with "Eddie 'No' Money."

No shame in your game, Eddie. RIP.

Think he played at Mohegan Sun a year or two ago, wife and I happened to be there when he was playing.  We could hear him out on the casino floor.

Why am I just now realizing that this is an Eddie Money song?   Damn.  Shame on me. (Still sounds good played loud)

Video I shot when he played at Empire Plaza in Albany,NY back in 2011.  The concert was free as it was a part of some summer concert series they held there.  Audio is garbled for some reason.
