  • I'm sure you took both sides of that debate.

  • First off there was no extortion. That was not in the transcript. No quid pro quo. Why do you make up shit? Who do you think you are, Adam Schiff?

  • I spent a lot of time thinking about this, unfortunately. You have to have so little self-respect that you are ok being lied to over and over.  You have to be ok with being told what to do.  You

Hurd is pandering to Texas republicans so he can come home and run for statewide office.

i didn't get a lot out of hurd's questions, honestly.

and the timing is important, in my opinion, because the "why" of the timing has to do with bill barr obstructing and/or initiating a cover up. the cover up is usually greater than the crime, though it might not actually be in this case, it is still important to establish how the administration is actively covering up their criminal actions.

Goddamn--did Will Hurd stumble into asking a damaging question?  He got the response that foreign interference in our elections is the greatest threat facing the United States in a hearing about Trump soliciting foreign help in his reelection campaign.

It is not a fucking transcript. But good question I guess.

While simultaneously damaging Mitch McConnell's efforts to stonewall election security.

Trumpkins will actually use that as a defense. See? They're taking election security seriously!

I'm really excited about Hurd asking questions about this. I don't think he's planning on taking any shit today

Based on his interview on MSNBC yesterday, I wouldn't get too excited.

Yes, finally.  When they give you a bullshit answer, call them out on it being bullshit!  I don't understand why they let them get away with it.

If you have never heard what a blowjob sounds like when put into words, Ratcliffe just gave it to you.

Just now, hayden_horn said:

ratcliffe is a ratfuck

Can you imagine if Ratcliffe had actually been appointed as Acting DNI?  Such a piece of shit, he would have fit this role for Trump so much better than Maguire.

Holy shit, now the whistleblower is sharing third hand info from the fake news media.

Not a lawyer, but are jailhouse confessions not admissible as evidence?

So their defense is that it is never a crime if the criminals don’t admit it directly.

That cunt Ratcliffe is my congressman.  I'm going to bust my ass to vote him out...won't happen though.  I'm surrounded by idiots.

How do we know that the Rudy on TV is actually Rudy? What if I told you he wasn't? And what if I told you he wasn't saying the things you saw him saying on TV?

So when President Warren tells the German chancellor "We are not going to sell Germany any weapons until the German Federal Prosecutor prosecutes the Trump family for its money laundering through Deutsche Bank," John Ratcliffe will agree that that is totally legal and totally cool.

I am impressed at the director’s mental mediocrity.

Just froze him at the plate with that one.

I legitimately thought you were talking about Warren Harding when I read this and it was the dumbest moment in my life.

Sorry, I had to do some work.  What's this about?

Rs being disingenuous pieces of shit and operating in bad faith.

Ratcliffe was this close to being in Maguire's position. Could you imagine what would have happened if he got the complaint?

near as i can tell, and i haven't read the whistleblower report, but it includes some dot-connecting from national media reporting and quotes from administrative officials published in such

Probably referring to a WaPo report that OMB held back $400m prior to the call with Zelensky.

It also discusses the things that Rudy said on TV.

So, it's Thursday.

and tweeted.  It wasn't based on opinions though.  It was all verifiable facts that the whistleblower gathered together.  Whoever put together that complaint was very talented.

Maloney is a shark.  He's setting Maguire up with some back-slapping, etc.

Garmin is the phonograph of smartphones

Did Maguire just refer to himself as "the most famous person in the United States?"

That's insightful.

Can these stupid fucking congressmen not recall he just relayed specific conversation points about POTUS by saying Donny didn't ask him to interfere?  Why are these fucks so incompetent?

The WB report does include this. The WB wasn't operating in a void and has laid out a very succinct timeline of what he/she learned internally while working within the White House as well as the overall pattern in question.

Maguire has hung himself on talking with Trump about the WB report.  Unbeleievable.

EP covers content of convo, not whether it happened or not --as Schiff and Maloney pointed out

Holy shit, he's really dropping Trump's Ukraine talking points.

Edited by Chuckie Finster

He claimed executive privilege when he got cornered on whether he discussed this complaint with the president. Wow.

And s/he brought receipts!

He's not required to answer the question, though, correct?

Holy shit. So, yes.

Questioning is always fun when it goes like this:

Q. Were you told to lie under oath?

Objection, attorney-client privilege!

Others have already commented but that's where Ratcliffe took it. I'm just endlessly amazed by their ability to spin.

I'm sorry--I'm writing a brief at the same time.  What just happened?

yeah, we are going to eventually find out that this guy is part of the cover up, if we don't already basically know from his evasiveness there.

there is a reason coats and gordon GTFO of DNI. i'd be curious as to what they might have to say.
