HUGE day for East Bay sports as Cal fights to stay the only undefeated team in the Pac-12 and my beloved Oakland A's try to clinch a Playoff berth. Go Bears, go A's!

(man, you can see in that poor girl on the right's eyes that she knows being in a picture with the other two is NOT going to be flattering)

Arizona State is 3-1 (two cupcakes, big controversial win over Michigan State in the Spar_y Bowl, close loss to Colorado at home)

Cal is 4-0 and ranked #15 (one cupcake, and then three good wins at Washington, vs North Texas and at Ole Miss)

I took CAL -4.5, over 43, & 1h over 21.  After CAL’s win last week and against UW I’m playing with house money and plan to ride it out.

Bold move on the over, neither of these teams scores much

Would be awesome to see Cal win the Pac-12 this year. Definitely gonna be watching this one

A huge part of that (at least for Cal, I don't pay much attention to ASU) is that Wilcox is a very conservative coach. He's very comfortable with a 17-13 win, kind of like Herman (though he has a defensive background).

Looks like a nice frigid foggy night in Berkeley. Perfect for hosting the Sun Devils.

I was not impressed winning against North Texas by 6 points. Then again, I don't know North Texas at all, other than Houston plays up there tomorrow.

Cal starts slow at home. Hopefully that changes tonight with good attendance.

It's gonna be a good time in the East Bay tonight...

Mason Fine is a very good QB and in general they're quite feisty for a Sun Belt team. Given that the win came in between those huge emotional UDub and Ole Miss games, I think that counts as a good solid win.

Cal grad Marcus Semien with the bomb for Oakland. East Bay Friday rolls on.

Soso Jamabo really should have picked Cal.

That poor ASU captain has 6 jersey patches, it's faaar worse than us.

Also that freshman needs to catch that conversion, yikes.

Furk.

Eno Benjamin is pretty good.

He pretty much established alpha male pecking order on that TD run.

Against Evan Weaver, no less.

Garbers looks good, which is essential if the defense isn't going to be stout tonight.

Edit: Damn, son!

Middle of the OL is looking good at opening up 3-5 yard inside running lanes as well

And that is one banged-up O line, unless they got those guys back tonight.

Sidebar, I'm generally a huge Nike homer (their clothes fit me really well), but the UA switch has been so good for Cal

Oh goddammit. And one of the few times I've ever heard Memorial to be noticeably loud.

Tell me the girl on the right in the top photo doesn't look like Holly Rowe. That is if Holly was ever that skinny.

Don’t let the SEC and MSU games scare you off.

Noticeable "bullshit" chants from the fans! Fun to hear the Berkeley crowd be a factor for once.

Nice. Any time Cal can put a lick on Daniels that's great. He's so skinny (and slippery).

And fucking LOL what the shit was that kick???

Simi blocked punt give me a chance to cover.

God fucking dammit. Special teams giveth, special teams taketh away.

Benjamin clearly mad with the FG decision. And extremely validated.

Jesus Christ, second time a Cal receiver has heard footsteps on a 3rd down conversion.

Now I get your previous assessment.

Dang that DT just got dragged 8 yards.

Cal looks better with their LT and 2 OLBs back.

I'd have liked it more if you were right. This is a wet, foggy slog. Hell of a fuckin' run there, though!

  • Author

Oh fuuuuuck that sucks.

Classic Cal, as soon as things go well, they're all about to go to shit. Ole Miss of the West if you completely invert their academics.
