Not getting it from a specific source, just speculation and from following minor league hockey for 40 years. Distance has killed plenty of teams and leagues for years. Adding Salt Lake City was the beginning of the end for the IHL and distance proved to be the death blow for the old Central Hockey League.

Five years ago, the A had teams in Austin, San Antonio, Houston and Oklahoma City. Now only one of those teams remain. Austin works out beautifully for Dallas but I can see the rest of the league pushing for a relocation out west at some point.

Hard to believe twenty years ago, Texas had pro hockey in San Angelo, Abilene, Amarillo, Waco, Houston, Killeen, Austin, Fort Worth, El Paso, etc. etc.....and they're all gone. Amazing how quickly minor league hockey lost its luster.

Man the WPHL was great.

You kids alive? We play in 20.

And we’re already losing.

As soon as they crossed the blue I knew that was going in.

You remember that time we came back in the 3rd against Minnesota and then went on a tear? Those were good times.

Dallas takes lead! 2 quick goals in 42 seconds! Pavelski and Oleksiak

Clearly team was missing my presence.  I just got kids down and turned it on about a minute before first goal.

3-1 now. Corey Perry did something right

Fuck him, anyways.

And we accomplished that goal.

Bowness loves to go into a shell to protect the lead. Hardly works.

This is my fault guys. First game I've watched since the restart. We were up 3-1 when it turned it on and it's gone downhill since I flipped it on. Turning it off now hoping to negate my negative energy and help pull out the W

Good thing this impressive choke doesn’t really mean much.

After the Mavs shitting the bed I needed a win. Damn

This is classic fucking bowness. Refuses to adapt and is stuck in this mentality of going into a shell when up a goal.

These round robin games are completely meaningless without home-ice riding on seeding, IMO.

Gee.  Look at that.  Another shitty performance from a Dallas team.  Can't just one of my teams give me hope?

At least FC Dallas got sent home before they could fuck it up

Guessing Skipper stepped away in the 3rd period

I actually did for a bit then caught their last 3 goals.  Brutal.

That would totally suck if the Stars played a game where they didn't go down 1-0 within the first 5 minutes.

On the bright side we are consistent...

WTF does this mean?

"unfit to play"??  Are they too drunk to play?

Only thing worse than bad hockey is bad hockey in an empty arena during a pandemic

Goddamn, we are pretty fucking awful.

Wonder if the Rangers would be worse at hockey, or the Stars worse at baseball?
