April 5, 20241 yr Barbie is a great movie and if it would of explored more of Ken’s pursuit of identity / the question of what truly is modern masculinity (vs him just trying to just replicate ‘the patriarchy’) it would have been the best movie of 2023. They do kind of touch on it but it’s fleeting. I enjoy watching it. My young daughters love it. I watch it a lot because of the later.

The latter is much larger and vocal than should ever be expected. 18 hours ago, ztejas said: I'm a big fan of Stephen A Smith. April 6, 20241 yr Far from a SAS fan but as a Cowboys fan I do look forward to his Twitter reaction posts where he tries to stymie a laugh but can't after every Cowboys loss. Too funny.

Anyone who burns any calories hating SAS (or Skip Bayles) are falling for the obvious three card monte game they are playing. Find them entertaining or ignore them, but raging against them means you fell for it.

Because I grew up in NM, with green chile served with almost every meal, I think bell peppers are completely useless. Chile peppers are supposed to have taste and heat. Bell peppers have neither.

They're just there. I guess stuffed green bell peppers can be good, but that's just because they absorb flavor from whatever you stuffed them with.

They're solid on a veggie dip tray, and roasted red bells are pretty tasty. I'm with you on green.
April 19, 20241 yr Greens are just the unripened other bells that's why they don't have much flavor. I don't know why they don't let them ripen nobody prefers green to the others.

If I let them get red the birds will eat them, so usually picked green because I'm too lazy to cover them. Of course I also grow two or three different peppers with some heat.

Pepper steak. Philly steak sandwiches. Italians like to stuff them. I’ve used them in my experiments with gallo pinto. (I’ve also used red.) Pretty tasty.

I know some people like raw bell peppers and will put them in a salad. I don’t really care for them raw. But I’ll eat raw celery. It’s good for snacking. My mom used to serve us little celery “boats” filled with peanut butter. I usually just dip celery in blue cheese dressing. I’ll make a plate of celery, broccoli, and carrots and go to town.
May 6, 20241 yr I’m good with sausage in almost all forms but a hotdog is a waste of my time. This is bullshit. I had a $1.50 hot dog at Costco this weekend that was damn good.

May 30, 20241 yr I'm a huge Kubrick fan but have resisted watching 2001: A Space Oddity for a long time because it's long and I'm not a sci-fi person. It took me weeks to get through the whole thing, I guess I'm too stupid to get it but it's not for me.

The left and right sides of the screen were at the edge of my peripheral vision. The opening scene with the homo hairyus encountering the monolith, then the fight and the thrown bone morphing into the space vehicle revolving to Strauss' Zarathustra were... let's just say it was mind-bending. And that was just the beginning.
