April 6, 20187 yr Anybody have any real world dealings with this? Thinking of putting one on the production floor. Every now and the floor manager will catch some employees using phones for texting, etc. I found this: https://www.thesignaljammer.com/products/8-Band-Jammer.html Any other brands worth looking at?
April 6, 20187 yr https://www.fcc.gov/general/jamming-cell-phones-and-gps-equipment-against-law Quote In recent years, the number of websites offering “cell jammers” or similar devices designed to block communications and create a “quiet zone” in vehicles, schools, theaters, restaurants, and other places has increased substantially. While these devices are marketed under different names, such as signal blockers, GPS jammers, or text stoppers, they have the same purpose. We remind and warn consumers that it is a violation of federal law to use a cell jammer or similar devices that intentionally block, jam, or interfere with authorized radio communications such as cell phones, police radar, GPS, and Wi-Fi. Despite some marketers’ claims, consumers cannot legally use jammers within the United States, nor can retailers lawfully sell them.

April 6, 20187 yr Could you put something like AT&T's M-cell in place and make them log in to use personal lines? Kind of like a private VPN but for phones? Edited April 6, 20187 yr by GlenFromTheMailRoom
April 7, 20187 yr We routinely fire rule breakers. My rule is, if it's not a company phone, I better not see it in the warehouse.

April 9, 20187 yr Make them sign an agreement that using a personal cell phone during business hours is against company policy, if they are caught they will be fired for cause. Texas is a right to work state (a/k/a can be fired because you feel like it). If they refuse to sign, sayonara.

What you're referring to is that Texas is at will employment state, which means you can be fired for good cause, bad cause, or no cause, as long as it is not a discriminatory cause. "Right to work" refers to union membership. Just sayin'.
April 16, 20187 yr I've heard RTW spun both ways. The obvious is the definition you gave, but it's been doubletalked to mean right to fire also. Politicians, man.
April 16, 20187 yr RTW is not correct term. From google: "Texas is an “employment-at-will” state. Generally, employees without a written employment contract can be fired for good cause, bad cause, or no cause at all."
April 16, 20187 yr Is illegal even in a private location.Yes. FCC controls airwaves even on pp. The main beef the popo will have is 911, but FCC rules make jamming illegal.
April 17, 20187 yr they cannot even use cell phone jammers in prisons where it would make the most sense.
