Went to the match today. Attending a game is so much better in person. Sight lines at Emirates are fantastic. Few interesting odd tidbits, to me anyway, were: the clock in the stadium counts down to z

  • It’s taken awhile to process this today. I’ve been known to liken Wenger to Mack Brown, but Wenger has won way more than Mack ever did. Both of them should have bowed out years earlier, but Arsène w

sokratis, smith-rowe, and guendouzi on the score sheet. 3-0 arsenal, well on our way to our 8th straight win.

That was hot. The players look stoked. Dare I allow myself some optimism over the Unai Era?

I’ll take it.

I'm cautiously hopeful without being unrealistically optimistic.  I'll need to see some wins against the top teams before I get too excited.  That said, good teams take full points from lesser opponents without fail, and it's definitely nice to see that happening.  It was frequently disappointing to assume three points in Wenger's last several seasons.

what a goal. for a guy who i've never been his biggest fan, ramsey sure can take part in some amazing goals.

A win tomorrow would put us fourth.  Maybe third if it's 4-0.

Way too early to be watching the table.  Just win, baby.

COYG.

Well that was nice.

Xhaka at LB, Auba on.

Aannnnnnnd goal.

Fuck that was nice.

Ozil will deservedly get the plaudits for that one, but I'm on the Iwobi train now.  He gave the ball away twice to start the game, and then proceeded to straight roast defenders right and left for the rest of the game while getting back and putting in a great shift defensively.  More of that please.

OK, thanks Mr. Wise Man.  We were in the relegation zone in September.

Yes, two matches into the season, we were fighting to stay up.  Nail biting time for sure.

my sleep is all messed up and i went to bed about 90 minutes before kickoff, and then immediately spoiled the game for myself when i woke up and checked my espn app out of habit. damn it sucks not seeing this game as it happened, but watching the highlights and reading about it has been great.

iwobi continues to ball out of control, and ozick was sublime tonight. loving the momentum we're building, and i can't wait to start taking on the teams that are still ahead of us on the table.

Arsenal's final goal was straight up the soccer version of the Los Angeles Lakers' fast break in the mid 1980s.

It was an absolute thing of beauty.

Three matches in seven days starting Thursday. Stay healthy boys.

pretty tame first half. hope we get one of those patented periods of chaos where we drop 3 goals in 12 minutes.

what a save. two great saves from ribeiro have kept us off the scoreboard.

Arsenal rounding out my weekend with consistency.  Halftime down 1-0 to Palace.

Xhaka!

Two stupid PKs given up to a team who hasn’t scored at home all year.

I just put in with Arsenal America for Arsenal-Southampton tickets in FEB.  Are these a long shot? I've never tried to score tickets before.

I emailed them a few weeks ago when I was headed over and they hooked me up with a last minute ticket to watch us beat Everton at Emirates.

COYG

Hard to believe this is still 0-0.

Welp, that’s what I get for posting, apparently.

Eh, I'll take it.  A fair result.  Staying in the top 4... for now.

Fuck. Welbeck appears to have suffered a very serious injury. His teammates looked horrified, Nani stayed by his side, and they brought out the oxygen mask to help calm down and not pass out. Fucking sucks for such a likeable guy.

also i've been meaning to post this for a while now, but Reiss Nelson has been killing it in the Bundesliga on loan, scoring a goal every 53 minutes iirc. hell he may get called up to England now that Welbz is out.
