May 6, 20187 yr Author A little dusty. I know I’m a Johnny come lately to all this but I feel like I recognize. I’m not crying, you’re crying.
May 7, 20187 yr Author Every goal was so great today. Jack just bossed the midfield on that one goal from Kolasinac. For Derka, the announcer said “and that is why Wilshere belongs in the World Cup.”
May 12, 20187 yr At this point I’m hoping it’s Jardim. Similar track record to Wenger with identifying young talent and grooming them. I’m assuming that we’d be able to hold onto that talent better than Monaco as well.
May 14, 20187 yr Off season question: I want an Arsenal flag that’s just the cannon. I can’t find one. Anyone seen one?
May 18, 20187 yr Eddie Nketiah was runner-up. Won’t be surprised to see Nelson getting a chance to win a spot on the wing with more pressing needs for big signings in the spine of the team.
May 18, 20187 yr Santi, Henry, Pires, and Ljungberg all reportedly could be members of Arteta’s staff.
May 19, 20187 yr Two-year deal because, similar to Koscielny, he relies on his physicality and pace to be at his best. Would be a good signing.
May 21, 20187 yr Nacho will going to Russia with Spain! La Cabra! Well deserved! Oh and Marcos Alonso was left out of the squad. Quality > hype.
May 21, 20187 yr Knowing the board, he was the unanimous choice because he was the cheapest option. Edited May 21, 20187 yr by CooterBrown
May 21, 20187 yr I haven’t heard of anyone who likes this hiring. He hangs his hat on winning the Europa League three times, but Barca and Madrid used to crush him, he was underwhelming and got sacked at PSG, and I read earlier that Sevilla didn’t win a single road game his last season there- I would rather have had Arteta. Emery’s track record just doesn’t inspire confidence.
May 21, 20187 yr Knowing the board, he was the unanimous choice because he was the cheapest option.Or the biggest pushover. Rumor was Arteta wanted veto power over transfers. Like, he was actually asserting himself. Hope this guy isn’t a pawn.

May 22, 20187 yr I'm pretty meh too. It's not like Arteta has a great coaching pedigree yet, but for some reason I was optimistic when it looked like he was the leading candidate.

It's not like Arteta has a great coaching pedigree yet, but for some reason I was optimistic when it looked like he was the leading candidate. It’s not uncommon at all to see coaching changing like this where it goes south before it gets better (see: Texas football and hoops), and to me the idea of Arteta bucked the trends and shook that dynamic up a bit. After all Pep only had one year coaching Barcelona B before before taking over at The Nou Camp. And with the likes of Pep, Pochettino, and Wenger all backing Arteta there was reason for optimism. Emery is bland and uninspiring, and I have a hard time seeing him thriving here. Time will tell I guess.
May 22, 20187 yr Moyes had Ferguson's backing, so that doesn't necessarily mean anything, but I would have loved to see Arteta get a shot.
