I suppose you can argue that some of our WTF games in prior years were worse, but a pleasing aspect of Herman has been good preparation and solid gameplanning for bigtime opponents.

This one fails big time. I was worried that trap games would remain a problem with Herman for a while.  Now I'm just worried.

It appears that comfort coach hiring is coming home to roost now that recruiting seems mostly on track.

Thoughts?

Tom has to clean house - OC, DC and special teams “coach” - or be shown the door. No way CDC is happy with this.

I thought he figured something out in the second half. Rojo was cooking. Then he disappeared.

One long run isn’t figuring it out.

Great play by RoJo. But the big run was still the result of an OU player missing an easy tackle near the LOS. If he makes the play we very likely still have 3 points.

This game makes me question our talent, too.  OU just looks faster everywhere.

That is likely coaching though.

They move with fucking purpose, our guys dance around like pussies on offenses and belly flop on defense instead of hitting a mother fucker.

I remember when OSU's offensive gameplan wasn't working but they just kept going back to it, and it cost them the game. We all laughed at them.

Herman is doing exactly that today.

That’s two drives this half featuring Rojo and tempo. Two TDs. That’s figuring something out that works.

Texas Tech in 2017 was Herman's worst game. Re-watch it if you don't believe me.

This one isn't nearly as bad... yet.

i think its one of his best to have us in this game with how we have been getting killed in the field position battle. he has been very patient.

I absolutely think this is a terrible game from our coaches. Which...what if we’re good enough to overcome that and beat the #6 team in the country. Has me wondering what the rest of the season holds.

Are we pretending like field position is out of the coaches’ hands?

His biggest mistake today is leaving Duvernay at KR. He’s killed us on every kickoff.

Tom can stay.

But his entire staff needs to be replaced.

In Herb Hand I do not trust.

He may have been making chicken salad out of chicken shit.  They're attacking the shit out of our weak OL.

Perhaps.

They are Swiss Cheese today.

This is his worst performance here at Texas that I can remember.   Guys aren't ready to play and a ton of unforced errors.  The offensive game plan has been atrocious.

The other thing is every game left on our schedule, except maybe Baylor, is a classic Herman-trap.

It's conceivable we don't win out.

Maryland?

And it isn’t even close. The loss to Maryland after losing to them the previous year was my far his most baffling loss. We didn’t come ready to play today, but OU is at least a good team. Maryland wasn’t anywhere close to being a good team

I can see Baylor, TCU or Iowa State besting us

The best coaching team won today.

Young teams make mistakes, but we keep seeing the same exact idiotic decision making on the field game after game.  That's on the coaches.

Fucking pathetic.

Didn't play well but OU is a better team from top to bottom. The fact that the game was even remotely close with as bad as Texas played says he didn't do an awful job. Team was just out performed. Sometimes it is that simple.

We aren't that great.  We are suffering from a plague of injuries at RB and in the secondary.  That being said, the coaches put up their worst coaching performance to date.  It was horrible.  Awful.  Hideous.  Embarrassing.  We lost the line of scrimmage against an opponent that was equally banged up at the line off scrimmage..

Conceivable?  Try likely.

0-2 in the 2 biggest games of the year isn’t a good look for sure. Hopefully they still make the Big 12 title and get some revenge.

TCU can't beat us.

Bad performance today by offense... especially by Texas OL

We should (I think??) win every game left on the schedule.  And that's what scares me.

It is gruntling to think that CDC is probably at least going to counsel Herman about this instead of just sitting around counting money like his predecessors.

After this game, I don’t see it. Hope I’m wrong as usual.

I could see us winning the rest of our games but hardly ever beat OU in the future, like John Cooper at OSU who had good teams but could never beat Michigan.

OU defense knew what play was coming on before Texas WR at times. It was insane to watch them swarm to the ball.

We're the new Georgia and Tom Herman is the new Mark Richt. We recruit well, we're highly ranked, and we won't win shit.

Two losses by 1 score to top 6 teams.

Misleading, in both we were alternating between 1 and 2 scores down and had to rely on the gimmick of onside kicks to have a chance.
