What position exactly? I think there are better options at WR coach.

TFB saying Emmett Jones, Tyrone Carrier and Andre Coleman are the three front runners, in no particular order.  All three would make a lot more sense

A few things: -If Harrell is the OC, and the rumors are legit but don’t take anything for granted until ink is dry, then Traylor could make a return. Herman would be admitting to a mistake in let

How about TE? Don't really care where. He saved Franklin's job. If it means being good again, I'm fine if he saves Herman's as well. A lot of Brady's concepts at LSU came from working with Moorhead.

One of these is not like the others...

Emmett Jones

Tyron Carrier

Andre Coleman

Joe Moorehead

Bring Moorhead in as an analyst. He doesn't have an on the field position where he'd be a plus coach as far as development of players goes.

He got fired from a historically bad program because he’s a huge dick.

Then maybe offer him a position as an analyst

Fresh idea: maybe hire him as an analyst I thought of this on my own

IT thinks Jones is the heavy favorite. Carrier should interview in the next couple of days. Would love to have one of them coach TEs or an Inside WR/TE coach even

That’s what I figured you’d say and I highly doubt he’d take a TE job.

Whew. Thank goodness you'd make that enormous sacrifice. Not many men could bear it.

It's okay to say it. Once. Even twice. But...

I don't think he'd take any position coach job as I said in the original post, but it's kind of late in the coach shuffle so take a swing. Hence, saying kick the tires. If Yurcich kills it here, it's be nice to have his potential replacement already on staff.

Sarcasm for the folks that would rather be right about Herman than win.

Isn't keeping Giles the point of having a DT coach? I thought the tone going into the season was that we wanted to keep Giles since he is a good coach, but have a plus recruiter for d-line prospects.

In some cultures that's considered desirable.

Any background in TE/ST for any of these 3 WR coaching candidates??

Little late on Golesh, already on the move to UCF.

Well.  Damn.  Cross him off the list.

I've got no one else at TE - anyone got a suggestion?

Tim Brewster. He's done it before on the 40 Acres. Nah, not worth his buyout.

Why not just get two of the WR coaches listed above and call it a day.

If we hire Tosh this certainly sends the signal that we're all in on playing the game with everyone else.

He did fine at Cal

LMAO at folks in here talking nonsense about bringing in Joe Moorhead in as an analyst or position coach. Moorhead should have no problem getting a Power 5 OC job.

Damn.  Wonder where Applewhite is going to end up.  I thought he would get that job for sure.

Can he coach TE? And ST?

I believe it was a tight end that got him in trouble last time at Texas. So no.

I'd prefer Simms

There was nothing tight about that end.

Seamus could handle that.

Actually wasn't it he end away from the non-tight end that got Major in trouble

One might say a wide receiver

Yeah, it was a loose end that got Applewhite in trouble.

Honestly, I like Clay Patterson from Minnesota. He’s the hungry, young type of guy we need, that also shows passion for coaching and a history of RPO understanding. And he has a lot of experience down here as he has coached in Oklahoma and Texas.

he wrote this piece which I think shows some of his acumen https://www.hudl.com/footballtrends/adjusting-the-dump-rpo-vs-man-coverages

That’s a good move for Lashlee - he’ll have complete control of the offense down there.

Incoming 247/Rivals article about Clay Patterson to TE coach.

I get all of the Giles fatigue, but of all of the problems on our defense last year the DLine was not one of them. The guy was the only one on the defensive staff developing his player room, even if he sucks at acquiring it. If he stays I am not going to be too bent out of shape about it. If we do end up signing Collins you can't even really complain about the recruiting this year.
