i don't care if it was a forced punt, unconverted 4th down, whatever.  the blocked/returend PAT doesn't count.

how many times this year has Orlando gotten off the field before a score?  someone knows this.  shirley.

Well, I know it happened because I've seen it.

Not so much in the Kansas game, though.

I was bored, so I looked up the play-by-play sequences on ESPN. Discounting last seconds of a half, it looks like our opponents have had ~ 48 drives that didn't score and ~ 36 that did. The Kansas performance was second to worst at 5 and 8. The worst was LSU at 3 and 8.

Error 404: not found

I seem to remember that we were actually really good at getting off the field on 3rd down last year? Like best in the conference?

Some weird voodoo shit is going on at Belmont right now. The entire team hasn’t looked right since the beginning of the WVU game.

It's almost like all the starting DBs are out or something

We have 8 punt returns, so other teams have punted at least that many times. Although can you really call them returns when they result in negative yardage. More like punt sacks if you ask me.

Did the DBs cause us to allow 9 sacks vs OU?

No that was Sam squeezing the ball and blowU DBs squeezing WRs

good question on a thread about defense not stopping teams, i suppose.
TO PUNT FGA FG TD TP
LATECH 5 2 2 0 2 11
LSU 1 2 0 3 5 11
RICE 0 7 0 0 2 9
OSU 4 4 0 3 3 14
WVU 4 5 2 1 4 16
OU 3 2 0 2 4 11
KU 0 3 2 2 6 13
  17 25 6 11 26 85
  0.494 0.506

TO include FR, INT, and DOWNS.

So 51% of drives against the defense end in a score or scoring attempt, pretty sure that is awful.

And I’m just staring at the stat that says Kansas scored more TDs on us than any other team we played.

Yeah, and it’s almost like our DC is scheming/calling plays as if all of the experienced DB’s are still on the field.  It’s clear that poor execution and hesitation are due to the inexperience we have Out there, but that doesn’t end the discussion of “whose fault is this?”.

It’s like we started out the season with a young defense we knew would be a liability and then lost or handicapped a majority of our starters with injuries.

This shit sucks for sure, but with the minimal time coaches get to actually coach, experience is the biggest factor in any reactionary component (defensI’ve backfield, QB, OL, etc.) of college football.

I knew I was going to be upset after opening this thread

2.5 points/drive is exactly average.

12.1 drives/game is above average, but not high.
