October 26, 20196 yr Saw someone in the pinto beans thread reference Shiner Cheer and not realizing it was cherry. My first thought, in true Surly stream of consciousness thinking, was of Cheerwine, a cherry soda found in North Carolina. Naturally, this made me ponder the question, what other "local" foods and beverages are out there that I have never heard of? I'm thinking U.S. only here; international brands are no real surprise or challenge.

October 26, 20196 yr Cheerwine’s cousin Budwine (originally Bludwine) was born in Athens, GA and I grew up drinking both. Conversely, I’d never even heard of Big Red until my first trip to Franklin in 2012 or so.
