Maybe he should catch better. Maybe not fumble punts. Maybe run a route that isn’t fucking embarrassing on film. Then maybe he’d have a legitimate whine and he’d see a lot more field.  I’m as ant

It seems enirely possible that Cousin Jake discovered - or was told - that Sark isn't going to play a WR who doesn't run routes as defined and crisply instead of rounding everything off, and even if he learnt to do so would still drop an inordinate number of balls thrown to him.

As we found with John Burt, it makes jack shit how fast he runs, he still has to catch the balls that do reach him.

I always hoped that Jake would put it all together, he certainly flashed at moments, but I'm not real sad to see him go since he seemed to want out all the time.

That said, if the rumors about him and Jake Ehlinger being close and planned roommates this year are true, that combined with Jake's struggles on the field and with injuries, along with coaching turnover (yes, for the better, but this isn't the coach who recruited him) add up to an unsurprising exit. I don't really understand the hate towards him for leaving, given all of that.

It’s standard fanthink. Play for my team and you’re great. Don’t wanna be on my team, then you’re a worthless piece of shit not even worthy of wearing a jockstrap. Important to remember that when it comes to fan(atic)s, all logic and reason leave the equation.

We need to buy out a nonCon and play the tools ASAP before all the rejects (transfers) are gone.

I hate agreeing with you, but this is true. Everyone that had the misfortune of playing for turtle and his shitty staff need some rehab. Some tucked their tail and sought it elsewhere. Fuck 'em

USC got...

Jake Smith - always injured

Keontay Ingram - may have cost us 3 games

Malcolm Epps - scared of 5'8" DBs

Xavion Alford - Not sure he ever played

Todd Orlando - Lulz

Bryan Carrington - the only real loss

Was looking at the USC vs OSU game for betting purposes and noticed Jake isn’t listed on usc’s roster.  Anyone have an update?

Isn’t

Yeah, he’s injured again.  Jk

I can’t believe a thread about Jake Smith had 11 pages. We must have been bored.

He’s still not listed on the USC website, your site must be using an outdated roster

You’re correct. That’s what I was trying to type on my iPad.  Fixed.

Guy can't catch a break... And F the NCAA for crap like this.

What the NCAA is doing to Devontez Walker at North Carolina + Jake Smith at ASU is one of the most misguided rulings they've ever enforced in their entire sordid history. Both players transfered before these new rules and only played for one school.

I disagree....how is it misguided really?

Dude literally transferred twice. The rule has been in place.

He transferred (Dec 22) before the rule was put in place (Mar 23). NCAA decided they were going to apply the rule retroactively in his case.

Because he sucks.

Way I understand it is because USC doctors won't clear him to play. (Freed up spot for someone else so Smith has 3yrs eligibility but can't use it at USC)

Hopping schools every season is fucking lame and I don't feel bad for anyone that's done it getting dinged. It got way out of hand with the COVID shit.

He got processed out of USC.

If USC kicked him out he should be eligible to play immediately. Seems like he should sue USC and NCAA
