Maybe he should catch better. Maybe not fumble punts. Maybe run a route that isn’t fucking embarrassing on film. Then maybe he’d have a legitimate whine and he’d see a lot more field.  I’m as ant

He wasn't eligible.  He's a depth WR for ASU now.  Not good, not bad.

ASU basically overhauled everything once the good players left after the NCAA stuff and took in a bunch of formerly high end recruits as reclamation projects.  He's been kind of ok.  Xavion Alford and Prince Dorbah have actually been pretty damn good for them.  Clayton Smith too (OU but from Texas), though he just got a babyshit soft targeting that's going to keep him out of the 1st half of the Utah game.

Some dudes just need a clean start.  It's kind of a trip watching dudes that weren't panning out elsewhere be kinda nice in Tempe after watching Daniels, Pearsall, Wilson, Gentry, et al bounce (understandably, NCAA shit).

I hope Jermayne Lole gets some run for you guys.  He should have gone pro like 3 years ago before the neverending injuries.  Totally different player than he was 2019 and 2020, but hey.  Still plugging.

Yeah, I heard his name on the broadcast and thought surely that can’t be the same Jake Smith…good luck to him though.

He’s been playing longer than Casey Thompson.

Jake, Casey, Cam Rising, all guys that should have a 401K by now.

I liked Jake. I thought it was a loss when he bolted. In retrospect perhaps not so much.  Good luck to him.  He had talent.

Really? All I can remember is dropped pass after dropped pass. Granted, he could have improved as the years went on, but he looked like a very raw WR which didn't align with his 4* recruiting ranking

I remember expecting him to look like a young Jaxon Shipley and coming away extremely underwhelmed.

My boys still give me grief about "just wait until you see this guy!"

He wasn’t dogshit, he got plenty of playing time as a true freshman. He was just overrated by the services and our fanbase.
His routes were underwhelming, but he was shifty enough out there.

injuries also took their toll on him. Thank goodness JWhitt salvaged that 2019 receiver class.

Get these clowns out of CFB good grief. Get a job.

There’s also that tight end playing in his 9th season at Miami. People can talk about living the dream and the college athlete life all they want, I think after about year 6 I’d start to feel like a loser.

Wasn’t this guy a total malcontent while here? Hopefully he’s grown up some. Great representative of a period of garbage culture that is thankfully behind us.

is ASU now Last Chance U? Jake Smith, Troy Omeire, Raleek Brown on their roster.

I look around here and, well, that seems unlikely.

To be fair, his HUDL was basically 7 minutes of long touchdowns. I remember watching it with my father-in-law and we both came away convinced that he was going to be a star

Also Xavion Alford, J’Mond Tapp, Prince Dorbah…

Bryan Carrington specials (he’s still on the staff there)

Jake was class of 2019 so not that unusual at all. Cam was in the same class as Trevor Lawrence which seems wild.

Yeah, that shit is embarrassing. Pretty sure he’s got more stats this season than the rest of his career combined.

Get used to it.  Some player will sue the NCAA for Right To Work and the NCAA will fold because the case will be likely unwinnable.
