I'm contemplating moving from Austin to Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the land of my people. Fuck Texas heat. Give me snow to my rooftop.

My buddy moved from Austin (lifelong Texan) to Duluth a few summers ago. He was posting pictures of his great new life that summer and those10 days of fall they get there. Was living back in Texas by Xmas.

I moved from St. Croix, USVI to Iowa in a February for no reason at all. How's that for smart?

that's like bragging about a hot obese chic.

This is bullshit.  If we have to tolerate upper 90s in October why can't we have 60s/70s all November?

Sounds fun.  Mom's originally from Iowa.  Been there exactly one time.

Too many of us touch ourselves.

I was jogging when it hit. Don’t think I’ve ever felt a shift in temperature like that before.

Because you touch yourself.

Kinda beat me to it, but I like the way I said it better.

"jogging"

I don't want to see what you did there.

The winds behind the front haven't been as bad as predicted.  Being Vet Day I was expecting the launch of The Liberation of Deciduous Leaves, but other than a few tossed in the initial gusts, they've been hanging on.  So far just some gentle swaying of the trees.

I believe it's “jogging”or “yogging.” It might be a soft “j,” I’m not sure. But apparently you just run for an extended period of time.

So is the ground still warm enough to keep this rain from turning into ice on the roads?  Looks like only hill country schools on delay so far.

My mom grew up on a farm south of St. Cloud so this hits close to (her) home.

Homercles: likely but overpasses and bridges can flash freeze as it gets below 28 or so.

Brrr in 76262...

It's probably an old forecast from a bathroom at J. Black's.

My districts Facebook page is becoming a jumbled mess as everyone posts ‘following’, ‘F’ or even just a period instead of using the ‘turn on notifications for this post’...dumbasses.  I personally don’t want a delayed start but there’s no denying it’s wet and about to go below freezing out there.

hope yall have hit HEB already.  Shit's gonna be off the hook if it's snowing/icing.

And it might not be open

Definitely spitting rain and snow in 78759.

And I was driving from Houston to Austin as the front was in between. I saw the line - seriously, I could see dust kicked up on the road, hit that line, and it was an instant wind and temp shift. Watched my car thermometer, and it dropped from 77 to 60 in ten minutes.

I was up at the ranch (Mullin) building a treehouse/clubhouse for my kiddo - taking advantage of the holiday. Temp dropped from 66 to 36 with haste.

Fuck it’s cold out. And it’s too gotdamn windy to keep the blankets over my plants.

RRISD on a 2 hour delay

Austin will wait until the last minute, although they said they should know by 3am.   Fuckers.

Pretty heavy sleet at my house in the CP now, and the temp just dropped below 32.  Gonna be an icy mess up here tomorrow morning.

Still a positively balmy 44 here in the crime free Montrose.

I haven't heard that reference in decades, well done.

Yeah definitely a mix of ice and rain in cedar park.  Not sticking yet though.

I've never seen a snow storm like this up here this early in the year. I have a pretty good memory. It's always been rare to see anything sticking before early December. I'd have to say we have 6" and it's still coming down. WTF.

High 30s in San Antonio. I often say I think of moving back to the RGV because the winters up here are too fucking cold & people look at me like I’m crazy. Life’s too short to deal with cold weather.

Had snow and freezing rain here earlier, now it’s all sleet I’m 78759. Wooden deck is an ice rink. Cars are starting to freeze over. Tomorrow morning is gonna be a damned mess.

Yep, cars icing over big time in 56.

Meanwhile, Austin ISD does as little as possible to acknowledge the weather.

The only thing that makes me sometimes think about leaving Texas is the incessant heat. The cold is awesome.
