June 11Jun 11 Thru four eps of Stick. For those that are unfamiliar, this is the story of a hot latina and her huge tits. It's intriguing. But what I'd really like to see is Spoiler an episode devoted entirely to Owen Wilson beating the shit out of that kid. "Quiet down old man. Stop trying to talk to me about golf or whatever, you fucking loser." "Well I did pay an outrageous amount of money just for the right to be your coach. And I'm paying for all of your expense, meals, etc., all in an effort to help make you a millionaire by this time next year. So maybe we can practice or something?" "Shut up idiot. I'm busy playing on my phone. Go away."

Until last night, it was the absolute absurdity of the $100K upfront, but now it is by far how the kid talks without being checked on anything. This is going to be hard to finish.

It was hard to start after watching the first 10 minutes and thinking it was Wilson redoing his character from You, Me and DuPree yet again. He has done a ton of work since Midnight in Paris and much just isn't good or different from the other bad roles.
June 12Jun 12 “Hi, Mitts. just a man, regular man” guess I’m in minority. I like Owen. mom got some thangs on her. Mitts is funny and the kid is a douche. But I assume he’ll come around. if I could binge it I would. im a golfer and I like golf movie shows Edited June 12Jun 12 by kingkoopa6

June 16Jun 16 Your Friends & Neighbors was surprisingly enjoyable. I was not impressed by the trailer and thought it would be mediocre at best, but I was very wrong. It’s like a weird combination between Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Out of Sight, and Hitman.Highly recommended and I’m looking forward to season 2.

No it's not award winning but it's goofy, has some funny internal monologs, quirky characters and silliness. It's a scifi sitcom based on a self aware, "on spectrum" robot that punches at both liberal and conservative ideas. So, it's bound to ruffle some feathers but I like it.
June 17Jun 17 agree 100%. It's not Citizen Kane or Seinfeld but it's kept me entertained and has a few laugh out loud moments in each show.

June 18Jun 18 I binged Stick through episode 5. Preamble - I'll watch anything with Maron in it and have liked everything he's been in, or at least loved him in it. I also like Owen Wilson. Not love, but been a fan since Bottle Rocket. If you dislike either, this series will be a struggle. So I, shockingly, love the chemistry between Maron and Wilson. Through the first 3 episodes its the only thing that kept me watching as I thought it was otherwise pretty cliche and predictable. Then in Episode 4 it really found its legs. A lot more is revealed and the story started to pull me in. Spoiler Through 5 they are handling the diversity aspect really well. Its direct, open, but they use comedy and its not heavy handed at all. I was extremely pleased personally that they made it a comfortable conversation not a massive issue. They used a little snappy aspects but were respectful and not cliche at ALL. So well done. It deals with some very heavy issues, primarily loss, abuse of sorts, friendship and family. However, it does it in a way thats comfortable and feels pretty honest. Its really well cast and written. I am really glad I didn't tune out. I'm loving the plot, writing, cast and the chemistry. I'm pretty suprised I like it as much as I do. And Raylan Givens has yet to appear.... and he's a big part of why I turned it on it the first place. So, it's more serious than I anticipated and it gets way better after the 3rd episode. Definitely worth watching, imo. But this is Surly, and it's a series, so I certain there will be disagreement. He used so many techniques that were brand new then, but are just part of visual storytelling today. I like The Third Man better if you're looking for more Orson Wells.

June 20Jun 20 Can we stop with the mom on Stick is hot? She looks like Latina Vanessa Bayer with big cans. Pretty good show. My wife loves golf and she’s of course hooked.

June 26Jun 26 Took until this episode (6) but I’m finally feeling like i care enough to root for Owen Wilson’s character. Not the kid yet though. Been rooting for Marin throughout.

June 26Jun 26 I don't even fully blame the show because it's a part of nearly every Hollywood romance plotline ever, but I fucking hate that lazy ass trope. "You kept something from me and weren't fully invested from the very second you met me, but then I found out the secret after our relationship had developed, so now I don't trust you!" "You mean to tell me that you weren't willing to travel across the country in a fucking Winnebago with two broke ass old dudes and carry my golf bag around because you were so smitten about what a swell teenage boy I am after spending a whole afternoon with me, and you needed financial compensation?? The audacity!" Edited June 26Jun 26 by aggie08
June 27Jun 27 I suppose in the context of this show, he was more pissed that they lied to him about it. Which, ok I guess. Proceed.
June 29Jun 29 Just started The Studio The first episode was okay. I’m 50/50 on if I want to start the 2nd one, and this has some major actors in it. (I mean I’ll eventually keep watching…)
June 29Jun 29 Took me a few episodes, but it keeps getting better. meanwhile, started the new Smoke series, thus far Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

July 2Jul 2 Watching all of their constant emotional rollercoasters that take place over 28 minute episodes is exhausting. How have all these people survived this long.

July 3Jul 3 Stream of consciousness on some I've watched - I think I had some comments upthread, but will add more. Your Friends and Neighbors Strong cast - Amanda Peet always gets my attention Decent writing Story is interesting, etc. Not sure I liked the way the season ended, but anything different might have precluded a second season Stick Interesting premise Cast, except Santi, is good/acceptable. It's like the writers and the casting director conspired to make him as unlikeable as possible. He's a uber talented, unrepentant, petulant child who finds any and every reason to find how others have wronged him. Perhaps he'd be a more sympathetic character if the actor was better. I like Wilson/Maron characters and look forward to their evolution. Mom's character is "so so" but she is definitely an enabler of her son's petulance. Murderbot I like the premise - Gurathin getting eaten by one of the sand centipedes would make the show better It could be better; it could be worse Fountain of Youth Two hours of my life I will never get back; multiple times, I violated the sunk cost fallacy and said, "it will get better." It did not. As someone else noted above, I cannot recall one thing from it. I even forgot that Natalie Portman was in it until I revisited the cast. If you think of watching it, don't. Find something else to do.
July 3Jul 3 Murder bot doesn’t work in the 20-30 min format. I like the premise but the story hasn't moved in 4 episodes
July 3Jul 3 Stick- Episodes 6 and 7 about drove me off the course of the series. Santi is a bitch made pussy. Oh no, my caddie I'm into and fucking got paid to be my caddie and cause I'm a petulant litte shit head I'm mad (sad face emoji). Imma cry to mommy cause she enables me and I can fuck up her blossoming relationship with Maron (who is carrying the show, imo) Also, @Red Fiveis right needs way more Judy Greer and I better get my fucking Waylan Givens fix next episode or I'm fucking out Your Friends and Neighbors - Lotsa fun. I know Amanda Peet isnt considered "hot" by most Hollywood and certainly not Surly standards. I dont get it and I think she is way more talented than she gets credit for being. Also Olivia Munn and Aimee Carrero... hmmmm yes please. Murderbot - Maybe because I'm probably on spectrum and a mild sociopath, but I am enjoying a lot more than most of Surly.
