Kurt thought we lost to Kansas

Felt like it.

Lol going to call the same few plays every first and second down. Jesus.

You never want to be a jack of all trades, master of none. Worked on condensing the game plan some.
Translation: we weren't getting it done by mixing in crazy/exotic blitzes with our base scheme and needed to simplify.

This week we're ONLY repping the exotic blitzes.

Todd promises me that simplifying will help.

Herman calls Bohls' "close loss" to Kansas a Freudian slip, then  says "there's no confidence -- shaken" with a noticeable pause in there, lol

He's an egomaniac.  He is going to bury this program under his giant ego.

Asked about using timeouts to ice kickers

A: nowadays those guys are trained pretty well. Can’t take the timeouts with you. Anything you can do to disrupt their process/routine might be helpful. Might as well try.

I'm not saying this is a right or wrong decision but in this day and age the kicker is probably expecting the timeout.  Almost more of a pressure situation to make them kick it the first time.

WTF, are we condensing the offensive game plan to nothing but WR screens instead of half WR screens?

So nobody nutted up even enough to ask a soft-serve, "what was the dialog with Coach Orlando this week?"... nice reporting.

That presser was as exciting as our offense and defense.

Player confidence shaken?

No.

See, because technically recruits and commits aren't players yet.  Neither are the backups who never play.  If you never play them, you haven't "lost the players" when they transfer.  Smart.

beat reporters are on it.  not one question about Orlando.  good work so far but we did get to hear there may be trick plays.

So a tackle maybe

He stated our goal is to be "in the mix for a conference championship" and we "kinda put our backs against the wall."

Are we paying to "be in the mix" or actually WIN conference championships?  If we only want to be "in the mix", then we're overpaying for like, a lot:  coaching salaries, ticket prices, travel expenses to games, team apparel, etc.

The fact that there no Orlando questions tells you the media was instructed ahead of time.

Not specifically Orlando but was asked what was the tenor of your discussions with your coaches

The defense is more than an Orlando issue, but he’s a pretty big part of it

Yep. Bianco made sure of it. He did the same for mack. Interesting that Bianco was let go during the strong era, and is back for butterteeth jr.

I guess that's as close as we're gonna get to "Did you fire that overpaid hack of a DC you brought yet?  You do understand that you can't put personal friendships above the program at Texas, right?  And that every day he still has an office in Bellmont makes you look like a total dipshit, right?  Right, Thomas?"

Here's what's gonna happen guys.  Three down linemen, Skyler will run for 150+ and even though our DBs should be a little better with Sterns and Foster back, they'll still give up big plays.  Lather, rinse, repeat.  Our inability to adjust mid-season (or hell, even during a game) is mind bottling.

Three dudes getting stonewalled at the line, and all Skyler has to do is run right around them. Then we can laugh as Cook/Jamison misses a tackle and B Jones/Foster takes a terrible angle and dives at his feet coming up empty,

Has been a huge pet peeve of mine for awhile. If you actually compile the data, kickers miss more often when they have to run out on the field and kick it immediately. A time out gives them time to compose themselves and remember their preparation steps. Timeouts are stupid.

I’m curious why y’all want our press conferences to be revealing.

It wouldnt really matter, now would it?

Now THIS is a Freudian Slip (from DOA...might be a good name for our Defense)

This is no shit.  Gold plate this response.

The best.

These press conferences are more worthless than Mack's toothbrush.

Herman will give the same bullshit answers to the same limp dick questions from a bought media.

What we can do really, really well?

Look disappointing and poorly coached and lose games we shouldn't to teams with inferior talent.

I guarantee it.

Yes it happened. I was surprised as you are to find out we almost lost to Kansas again.

A: go 1-0 again K State. Doesn’t even know who we play after them

I'm not sure why he is determined to stick to these bullshit answers about not knowing our schedule.  It doesn't impress anybody, and it just is more evidence that he truly is in over his head if it is true.

His little 1-0 mentality would be a whole lot cuter if he could actually accomplish it

Not a single question about South Austin's Mom, wasted opportunity.

Condensing the playbook?  We only run 5 fucking plays 2 slow developing runs for zero gain. A short bubble screen and a 50 yard underthrown Hail Mary.  Good god if he simplifying it even more we’re super fucked

I can confirm this. Also not asked about Kate Beckinsale.

I usually listed to the audio but missed it today, hopped on 104.9 right at the very end and listened to those guys thoughts and they absolutely roasted Herman today.  Called him out repeatedly for his arrogance and for giving BS answers to every question.

With how our defense is, I’d take the over.

Ohhhh.. A "deep dive" huh?  Did they also "circle back" and discuss "collaborate synergies" while examining "best practices"?  Not going to "boil the ocean"....just focus on "core competencies".....Next presser he'll have a PowerPoint.

I don't think there are any unanswered questions there. Everyone has first hand knowledge.
