November 24, 20196 yr Author Oh, that's a great call. Her whole debut album is stellar but "Criminal" is phenomenal. Amazing lyrics, amazing delivery.
November 24, 20196 yr Great opening lyrics. I've been a bad, bad girlI've been careless with a delicate manAnd it's a sad, sad worldWhen a girl will break a boyJust because she can

November 26, 20196 yr This band hasn't been mentioned (i think), might not be their most well known but i think it's the Kinks best

November 29, 20196 yr Good one, but Sham a ling dong ding is my favorite. Especially this version...hell, he makes Neko cry.

January 24, 20232 yr I know there is a lot of REM hate on this thread, but going to toss out Radio Song. A Add Me and Honey. Overlooked.

Although not my absolute favorite Prince song, I always thought "Purple Rain" was pretty much his apotheosis. I was always a Purple Rain guy, but I’ve come around to Kiss recently. If nothing else, it nails Prince’s unique vibe better, even if Purple Rain is a brilliant epic.

January 26, 20232 yr Just discovered this thread and it’s a great one. I have lots of opinions and I’m team Purple Rain as it relates to Prince. But one that always pops into my head related to this question is actually a b-side from Smashing Pumpkins. “Set the Ray to Jerry” Its a great melody and kinda like everything SP does well in one song. Plus Chamberlain just impeccable throughout.

I've played it a million times in the last 30 years and it still hits me like the first time I ever heard it.
January 26, 20232 yr Author Jimmy Chamberlin is so damned good. He's on my Mount Rushmore of rock drummers with Bonzo, Taylor Hawkins, and Kenny Aronoff.
