Hey there. So I just went to the star link site and tried to give them my email for updates, but I keep getting the message “failed to sign up for updates.”  Can they not even get this right?  Anyone else have the same issue?

They are about to attempt a 150-Meter hop with starship in around 10 minutes.

Couple links.

Well crap. Looks like an abort. I guess some other time. Apparently they have an hour to figure out what went wrong and refuel to try again. Have a feeling this will be moved to another day.

Was there supposed to be fire above the engine like that at the end?

Not sure, but I wondered that too.

New T-0 set for 4:45pm CST today (Weds 12/9/20)

Good timing!

on its way to south austin's mom's house

i don't think that was supposed to happen

lol they lost an engine right at the end but that was fucking awesome to see. They're gonna be landing those big fuckers soon

best razor crest impression goes to:

Liiiiiiiiitle hot on the landing SpaceX, but a very cool visual up to that point.

I didn't see any landing gear. The expected that to happen right?

but yes, it looks like it came in a little hot

it was real weird/spooky to see it belly flopping in right on target and then relight and swing around. Looked like some of the dumb shit I've done in Kerbal, explosions and all

2 seconds earlier rotate and thrust and maybe they stick that

Watching some 120FPS footage of the landing - they definitely lost a raptor and then it was spitting out green flame trying to relight and the landing legs didn't actually deploy. There's gonna be some busy engineers tonight lol

I think it went into an underground silo.

Did it have landing legs?

It has little stubby landing legs that telescope out the bottom, you can see them in the previous hop attempts

SN9 might test fly on monday

It's on the stand doing checkouts with a window between noon and 6 today!

SN9 going for another attempt today, so far they've activated the TFR and closed roads so fingers crossed!

It may actually still be on! They're clearing the launch pad and proceeding with pre-launch procedures

They're about to start load propellants judging from the clouds coming off the cryo tanks and pipes. Looks like the holdup was with the TFR with the FAA

They're definitely loading propellants, and apparently Musk is calling the FAA trying to get the TFR approved last minute lol. Maybe they'll do a static test fire if they don't get approval?
