November 19, 20196 yr With Sonic and Cats coming out I began wondering if there was ever a video game or broadway movie that was successful. And if you put together the list of movies from each group you would find either would actually produce anything of worth, and then I was wondering why on earth these movies get made. But then I realized I was trying to rationalize Hollywood. Then I checked out the list on wiki for video game movies and check the shit that is coming out soon. Video Games Super Mario Bros. In the end the Broadway stuff probably wins out but mainly for Chicago and a bunch of shit from the 1950s. Also, wtf is Tetris the movie.

November 20, 20196 yr Where would code “The Witcher” series? Is series of books but video game series catapulted it.
November 20, 20196 yr The original Resident Evil is a pretty damn good movie. I may be biased as Milla is my jam
November 20, 20196 yr Wondering if there was ever a successful Broadway movie seems strange to begin with. The stuff from “the 1950s” - several of the movies actually from the 60s - isn’t exactly obscure: The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, The King and I, etc.
November 20, 20196 yr Mortal Kombat had a great movie soundtrack if memory serves. "MOoooortal Koooombaaat" yelled between techno viking moves

Seems like the same thing in my head. Also 1950s - Street Car Named Desire, Harvey, Death of a Salesman, Baby Doll, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Death of a Salesman, etc... But that small list above evidence that the Broadway movie wins, granted in most of our lifetimes that post on this board, there hasn't been much to get excited about from the transition from Broadway to Film. I guess the question should be if you were a producer in today's hollywood, would you make a movie based off a broadway play or video game or just shoot yourself? November 20, 20196 yr In addition to those already mentioned, you have Driving Miss Daisy and A Few Good Men (not the porno versions) both in the late '80s. Rocky Horror Picture Show in the '70s.
October 22, 20205 yr First look of Tom Holland as Nathan Drake for Uncharted. It should've been Nathan Fillion, since the character was basically made for him, but maybe a young Nathan Drake is a good thing, because I can see them milking the shit out of this series:
October 22, 20205 yr Author Honestly the best part of those games is the cut scenes and the stories. Sorta just a reboot of Indiana Jones.
