There were at least three storylines briefly mentioned in TLJ and ROS that were more compelling than those movies. Luke training Leia, Luke trying to start a new Jedi Academy, and Palpatine's offspring on the run from daddy Emperor.  I'd rather watch a movie  about those stories before watching what we got.

It's a leap to suggest Luke had "a moment" of doubt about Kylo. He woke up in the night and walked to Kylo's bed, wielded a lightsaber, and stood over him thinking about cutting him in half. That's more than "a moment". Complete horseshit storytelling. Very lazy writing from someone who just wanted to be a contrarian. You'll never convince me otherwise.

He literally says he has a momentary reaction, the briefest of thoughts, he didn't go in there to kill him, he reached inside, saw what's in there and had a reaction.

But I've argued this to death and people won't change their minds.

Look if you’re living your life where people have brief momentary reactions where they are pulling loaded guns and pointing it at kids or you, you need to rethink a lot of things.

He was holding a lit saber over a kid. Briefest of “thoughts” my as. That wasn’t a thoughtsaber. That’s not something you walk back.

Plenty of us have stood over our kids' beds at night (or nephews or nieces) with a toy lightsaber lit up.

It's been so long since mainline Star Wars has had a win, this feels weird and foreign.
