Anybody here do this? I tried it today with my 12 year son and he loved it. Went to some spots in the neighborhood and had a blast.

I geocached your mom last night.

Was she hard to find?

It's a great way to explore small towns on road trips. Caches are usually in old cemeteries, historical parts of town, etc.

Do the cache hunter's walk around running into people and other shit like Pokemon, or are the caches usually not in crowded places?

I went through he neighborhood and we were the only ones doing it.

Isn't there some sort of treasure box "take a prize, leave a prize" kind of component to geocaching?

I assume that you left a French Tickler or similar?

What's with the rocks thing? Co-worker showed me a painted rock she found outside of a Fuddruckers, said she got online (FB) and logged the "find". No idea.

Some caches have small toys/junk. It's great for little kids.

Not all caches have it - usually the size of the cache determines if there's room for stuff like that.

My 17 year old son loves to Geocache. He likes setting up his own caches as much as he likes finding them. For his 16th birthday, he had a group of guys go geocaching for a couple of hours that took them to about 4 different parts of town.

we did this in college once for a friend's birthday.  i hated it.  don't know why she wanted to do it.

Sounds like a good way to get butt raped.
