Assuming the “ok to profit from your image...” et cetera is or will become a Real Thing™. Not sure what all is covered in that code, but sounds as though athletes like foobaw players (mainly? only?) can now (or soon) get paid for endorsements that are done within certain constraints.

Obviously there're some questions about wording, but the bottom line is that there will have to be some sort of contractifications, which means that some (if not all) athletes will benefit from having an Agent to ensure they aren't signing away more than they should.

Who's ready to offer those services to the soon-to-be burgeoning market?

The point is that once the players can enter agreements involving actual. legal payment for services other than playing their games, the prohibition on agents pretty much has to go. Yes?

I've always found it interesting that NCAA prohibits athletes from having agents and receiving compensation, but if Auburn's star QB gets in trouble with the law, he'll suddenly be represented by the top lawyer in the state of Alabama who's providing his services for "free."
