Not the number of movies, not a character played by multiple actors over time. One person, one character, most minutes. My suggestions.

Robert Downy Jr: Three standalones, 4 ensemble's, several movies as a secondary character.

Sean Connery: The main character in 6? Bond movies.

Hugh Jackman: 5? ensembles, 3 standalones.

What you got?

The original M and Ms Moneypenny were in more Bond movies than the Bond actors I believe.

Multiple actors were in all 8 Harry Potters.

Freddie Kruger dude was in a bunch.

Christopher Lee was Dracula a bunch of times.

If you bring TV into it then you can add various actors from The Simpsons, Gunsmoke, and Law and Order.

I dunno but on the other end of the spectrum Judi Dench pocketed an Oscar for 8 minutes of screen time, Anthony Hopkins for 16 and others that have the big award for not much actual screen time.

My film nerd response:

Shintaro Katau as the blind swordsman Zatoichi in numerous Japanese films and a TV show.

From Wikipedia:

He played the role of blind masseur Zatoichi in a series of 25 films between 1962 and 1973, in 100 episodes across a four season television series from 1974 to 1979, and in a 26th and final film in 1989, which he also directed.

They used to show these in the 2000s early Saturday mornings on IFC (when it actually used to be an Independent Film Channel).

Dom in the 42 Fast and Furious movies has to be up there. I mean, I had to really think at first, because I know his character name before I could think of his real name. Even VD playing Groot did not help dispel that.

Both mentioned earlier, but it would have to be someone off Gunsmoke (Matt/ Festus/Kitty) or L&O SVU (Olivia/Tutuola) that had leading roles. There are several soap actors that had recurring roles into their 80's but their screen time was very restricted in the later years.

Kelsey Grammar in Cheers/Frazier

Probably some soap opera star that had a role for 50 years.

Yup, this made me think of Susan Lucci who played Erica Kane on All My Children from 1970 to 2011.

How many Abbott and Costello movies are there?

28 between 1941 and 1956

So we're not counting porn performances, I'm guessing?

Somebody break your mom’s record?

Thought I had posted about Gunsmoke earlier but guess I never completed it.

The Stooges?  Mo & Larry

Little Rascals - Spanky?  Alfalfa?

Ed Asner - Lou Grant?  MTM / Lou Grant.

Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger has to be up there.  Kevin Smith and Jason mewes as jay and silent bob. Probably none of these 3 have large number of minutes but plenty of movies.

Clint Eastwood, in every one of the over fifty films in which he has appeared, except that godawful Every Which Way But Loose and the Bronco Billy dreck show.  I mean, it's the same squint, raspy voice and take no bullshit guy every time.  Not the same role?  Okay, never mind.  Here's one - Donald Trump getting up 1,000 days in a row acting like a president - . . .  naah, he's not acting presidential at all.  I apologize to OP.

Same could be said for Al Screamin Pacino, squinty eyed tough guy DeNiro.  Shit, don’t even start on Steven Seagal.

Right turn, Clyde.

Yeah my first thought was ...

Susan Lucci (Erica Kane on All My Children for 42 years).

ETA: Poke beat me to it. I don't see how anyone can beat her screen time.

Not the longest but worth mentioning. Mr. Rogers, 912 episodes, 1968-2001.

Also, John Aniston, Jennifer’s father, 2384 episodes of Days of Our Lives. And still counting.

She hot too.

Kevin Costner.  (Every movie he’s been in)

Jack Benny played "Jack Benny" starting on NBC radio in 1932 and ending on CBS television in 1964. The man's footprint on comedy is unmatched.
