C'mon, man. Quite a bit of hyperbole there to rationalize around the fact that Malik struggles mightily to shed blockers. This isn't a secret about the guy, man. There are reels of tape and numerous comments by scouts/draft analysts in reference to it, and 3 years' worth of game threads on shaggy with fans bemoaning it. God-gifted, freak of an athlete, but he's gonna need work in that area. Edited April 7, 20187 yr by Augustus

April 12, 20187 yr unfortunately the Texans don't have higher than a 3rd round pick, will Malik still be there?

April 12, 20187 yr If not the Texans or Cowboys, please be the Saints, Packers, Giants, Broncos, Seahawks, Patriots, or Eagles, so we can see him play multiple times a year without having to get the NFL pass. Those seem to be the only teams that routinely get coverage in central Texas.
April 13, 20187 yr Hopefully they don't do any drills with lineman getting to the 2nd level. That’s a shitty thing to post.

April 13, 20187 yr Just a fact. He had problems shedding blockers. He would get caught up fanboi.Man, I thought you’d get the reference.
April 18, 20187 yr Would love cowboys since we need LB but other than that just not a nfc east team Hate watching horns ball against cowboys in division

April 28, 20187 yr Well, I never watch the Bangles but I hope he does well there. Can't help but think another year would've benefited him.
April 28, 20187 yr Malik will be playing along side that subhuman piece of shit Burfict the dirtiest player in the NFL.

Happy for Conner but really worried about him. And I continue to think Malik has been overrated. Hope I’m wrong and he’s Jordan Hicks, who was also overrated.

But like Hicks, I think he surprises people.
April 28, 20187 yr Hope so. Hicks has been a very pleasant surprise as a pro. A much better pro than college player.

April 28, 20187 yr And every one of us should have Malik’s back forever. He stepped up and joined this program when it was in a very bad place. He started the revival. It hasn’t come as fast as he or we all hoped, but think about where we’d be if he went A&M. Malik started the comeback.

That class was merely okay and subpar for Texas standards. And had a lot of attrition after signing day.

April 28, 20187 yr Dickson was the only one that didn't leave any question about his ability. Hopefully TH and staff can use this in the future when guys are being told to leave early and get the money. They'll have a counterpoint to say, oh really you think you're a lock?

Perhaps Dickson would have been flat; I don’t know. I’ve just never heard of a fucking kicker coming out early. And he in particular is not going to make that much money. I’d stay another year, enjoy school and get a degree.
