November 30, 20196 yr Another reason we play so bad is because Shaka is so bipolar with his rotations and we can’t build any continuity on the court. Some guys are playing every other game then not playing at all for no reason then another few guys play then he benched them. He is in panic mode for his job and he sucks at being confident in who can play and who can’t.
November 30, 20196 yr Hate to say this, but it's unfortunate Coleman doesn't play for a better coach. He's frustrating at times, and no coach can help his lack of size, but the overall game and potential are there. I truly believe that, anywhere else, he would've developed into an elite college PG.

November 30, 20196 yr This is amazing. We are so bad at offense that 2-5 McNeese State has now double our FT attempts at home.

Attack the rim relentlessly, especially against McNeese St Some in-game metrics: McNeese is a very good 3-point shooting team, yet only 13 of their 42 FG attempts this game are from deep, making more than half (7) of them. Meanwhile, Texas is below average to poor from beyond the arc, yet nearly half of their FG attempts this game (43.3 percent) are from deep. The Longhorns have converted 6 (23 percent) of those. It's like Shaka subscribes to the "volume" business model from SNL's Change Bank commercial parody.
November 30, 20196 yr Author point spread wise this would be an even bigger upset than UMBC vs UVA, and by a few points at that. something like 5.5 points iirc.
November 30, 20196 yr Mr Stability is about to have five solid years worth of evidence staring him in the face that our coach is a jag.
November 30, 20196 yr 2 minutes ago, Goo Punch said: refs have actually been killing McNeese, and that last one was brutal. Have to agree, man. Three of Lawson's fouls were extremely ticky-tack, imo. And he's supposedly their best player.
November 30, 20196 yr Author that said, having kuxhausen trying to create his own shot off the dribble drive was a bad idea. Edited November 30, 20196 yr by Goo Punch
November 30, 20196 yr Author Lance seriously just said that fouling Ramey "was the exact play you have to make, because you have to foul anyway." the game is tied Lance.
November 30, 20196 yr This is why we brought Shaka here 5 years ago for huge games like today! Let’s goooooooooo. We are such a fucking joke of a program now.
November 30, 20196 yr nvm Just saw we win. Who cares Edited November 30, 20196 yr by RockyMountainHighHorn
November 30, 20196 yr I always want to win, but if this lead holds, not going to feel very good about it because we needed help to beat 2-5 McNeese State at home.
November 30, 20196 yr Just now, RockyMountainHighHorn said: Can someone explain what is going on? Espn has been stuck on 8 seconds for 5 minutes now? Now we’re somehow leading? Ramey played good D on a guy who is a set shooter and can't create his own shot. Kuxhausen's forced attempt hits the side of the backboard, Ramey rebounds it, and Kuxhausen instinctively flashes a quick reach, but it didn't look like he actually made contact. And it was a split second. But that was enough to send Ramey to the line with 8 seconds and change. He swished them both.

November 30, 20196 yr Looks like UT could adopt a new slogan across all major men’s sports. “Texas - Winning is really, really hard.”
November 30, 20196 yr 28 minutes ago, Rockethorn1978 said: Especially by his senior year! Coleman gets a lot of flak--deservedly so, at times--for over-dribbling and for playing out of control. Today, however, he was poised from start to finish and had one of the best games of his career: 4 of 9 from the floor (only 2 attempted 3-pointers, making 1), 6 rebounds, 10 assists, 2 steals, and 1 foul without a single turnover. Don't recall him dribbling himself into a corner or making a bad decision, and his assist total would've been nearly double if our "sharpshooters" could convert their wide-open looks. Sad thing is, we needed every bit of that else we would've lost--at home--to a 2-5 McNeese State team that hasn't beaten a single D1 opponent so far this season.
November 30, 20196 yr It's so much fun listening to our announcers talk about every mid major as if they are Gonzaga.
November 30, 20196 yr The refs didn't help them out nearly as much as some of you are saying. McNeese got away with a lot down low early in the game. Washington for them flopped like a bitch.
November 30, 20196 yr B12 play is right around the corner. This team is again a last place team or close to it. We are going to get lapped by Beard's rebuild in year one. I don't think CDC knows what to look for when hiring a coach or what bad play might be. He was hamstrung by Perrin's extension of SS, but man, we should have bitten the bullet 2 years ago and canned this fraud.

Not many big donors are willing to shell out big money to can a basketball coach at Texas. That's not on CDC.

Essentially, Perrin as our AD, extended Shaka because he believed having a politically correct coach was more important than wins.
