May 1, 20214 yr Yeah, he runs these promotions and gets tons of publicity and then gets more publicity when he places huge bets to hedge his exposure. Definitely not a dummy.
May 1, 20214 yr that was a great race. For the first time in a long time.Good to see.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
May 2, 20214 yr A friend (female out in California) who always bets on the Kentucky Derby did a #7, #8, #9 Trifecta Box for $12 ($2/bet). That turned out to bring in $3,300 for her $2 wager that won, while the other $10 was flushed down the drain. She also placed 3 $2 bets on #7 to Win, Place, & Show and picked up another $200+ from those three bets. She informed me that this was the best that she's ever done on the Derby. (No shit.)
May 9, 20214 yr I don't know, Bob, maybe you are the problem in horse racing. All these positive tests, your lawyers working overtime. Like the bank robber pissed off about high crime rates and pledging to fix it.
May 9, 20214 yr Man, a little more of this and I'm gonna get the idea that horse racing is often a greaseball sport, run by cons. Unimaginable, I know.
May 10, 20214 yr when in doubt, run to Fox News and cry about "cancel culture." the go to move for old white dudes who cheat.

May 10, 20214 yr Not only blaming cancel culture but also blaming a groom for taking cough medicine and pissing on the hay, LMAO!
May 11, 20214 yr It looks like "cancel culture" didn't cause Medina Spirit's positive test for betamethasone after all. It may have been trainer Bob Baffert himself.
May 11, 20214 yr Wait, Bob substituted his own urine for Medina's? Please don't tell me how he got it into the horse's urethra, I can guess.

June 2, 20214 yr My dad (RIP) never liked Baffert for whatever reason(s). Not that has any bearing on anything but I can totally see him saying, “Yep. I knew it.” I am aware that there is more widespread stuff like this in the sport. Not naive about it. My dad just didn’t care for Baffert. Lol.
August 23, 20214 yr seeing this live was wild It was on the back stretch.... so didn't really get the best of look.. but the aftermath and wondering wtf was going on.. horses on the loose and trainers running after the jockeys.. they only had one ambulance... surely a change in rules after this... luckily no horses or jockeys were seriously injured. they gave all our betting money back....some dudes were fuckin heated weirdly i won and picked the winning horse, but i laid other bets down and lost those. getting my money back won me money... technically.. haha https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/sports/horse-racing/story/2021-08-22/del-mar-seven-horse-spill-four-jockeys-hospital Edited August 23, 20214 yr by kingkoopa6
December 6, 20214 yr Medina Spirit dies after a workout at Santa Anita. Wonder if any topical ointments were in use at the time. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10020131-kentucky-derby-winner-medina-spirit-dies-after-workout-at-santa-anita-race-track
December 6, 20214 yr ^ Not sure, but Jay Riemenschneider and his butcher have been called in for questioning.

I'm guessing my sportsbook wont be retroactively paying me for my wager on Mandaloun https://www.cnn.com/2022/02/21/sport/medina-spirit-kentucky-derby-win-disqualified/index.html
May 6, 20223 yr And a crazy outlier longshot on Desert Dawn who has zero chance but horses breaking from the 9 gate have been unusually good to me over the recent past years.
May 7, 20223 yr Author secret oath is impressive. hope she comes off this well enough to give it a go in the preakness.

May 7, 20223 yr I like Woodford Reserve bourbon just fine. They basically just aired a commercial for them during the broadcast. They had everyone drinking mint juleps out of those little cheap copper cups, the kind I once got with some promotional offering with a bottle of their bourbon. There has to be something better. I wound up throwing them away. Meh, I don’t drink mint juleps anyway. Or Kentucky mules. But if I wanted to impress someone, I’d find better quality copper mugs.
