So Beck is safe?

Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk

Beck needed the axe more than Orlando...then again as long as tom is here it really doesn't matter who he fires your problems will remain.

He single handedly costed us the TCU and LSU games with the zero blitz call on 3rd and long with the game on the line.

Legit surprised. I didn’t think they would and would blame injuries.

I did not expect this. Must be more going on than we know. Wonder who gets hired.

Interested to see who coach’s D for bowl game

Beck can have value as a QB coach.  He is an outstanding recruiter.

Went from being one of the most sought after coordinators last year to fired this year.

How did Orlando get axed before Beck?

Naivar apparently.

Problems on offense were worse, IMO, but I'm not surprised Orlando is gone.

Beck needs to be demoted. Warhimes special teams suck. Etc., etc.

In on page 1. Thank fucking god

Herman is still way more "retro" than "active" in his retroactive firing of Orlando.  At least he did it today instead of waiting until bowl season was over when the pickins options are Spaulding Smails, the field hockey assistant coach from Sarah Lawrence College,  and Roscoe the One Armed Midget,

As it is, I have full faith and confidence from everything I hear around UT that Herman will be given a large checkbook to make a new hire and he'll completely fuck it up.

I'm shocked we did anything. Any firing is a positive. Let's hope this is just the start.

this .. Surprised big time despite the atrocious national rankings.

Should have pretty much all new defensive staff right?

Also, let's get a really OC. Keep Hand and maybe Beck, but get a true OC, no more Tom calling plays.

Let's keep this rolling.....as in heads.....

Meh up next??

you would have to think he is looking at the coaching careers of Charlie and guys like Lane Kiffin and wondering if maybe he wants to try and keep coaching at Texas or if he wants to have to go to Saban rehab (Saban rehab might be closing down sooner than later) or does he want to have to take a G5 job and then possibly get fired from it is his BS does not sell their either

This is a good start. Any staff that still has Mehringer on it next year will be a colossal disappointment.

Could this signal a replacement has already been identified?

or mehringer or warehime.

I was as frustrated as everyone else with Orlando and it’s probably the right idea to can him, but be prepared for him to possibly do well at his next stop.

He was coaching in the most difficult league for defenses and he’s learned a lot this year that he will likely apply in the future. I could easily see him get picked up by a solid P5 program. Texas just couldn’t afford to wait for him to learn any longer.

If fired, pretty sure Orlando still gets $1.7 million for the 1yr remaining in his contract

yeah, leaves a void kinda. I want to hire a highly admired NFL LB position coach as DC.   The LB is the heart and soul of any defense, great Ds have them as leading tacklers, so that's the correct direction.

It's going to be interesting to see if/where Orlando ends up.

Strong needs to go the Vance Bedord route and never coach again.

I don’t give a shit how he does at his next stop. As long as I don’t have to watch our nickel back slap fight an OT every 3rd down and long I’ll be happy.

Adios Mofo

Anwar saying Ash is the top candidate to replace Orlando.

he's a good DC and a rainmaker on the trail.. at the very least a DL or LB position coach

Somehow though, Rhule and Riley had people that could figure things out on D in far less time....for far less money.
