This is the one Christmas movie I will watch every year. I did not get to see this movie as a kid in the theatre so I went last night after work to AMC to see it. It was the 30th anniversary of the movie. I can quote the entire movie and I am sure many of you can as well. The whole theatre was doing it last night, which was pretty cool.

Cousin Eddie saying "You serious Clark?" gets me everytime. I say that to people when they say something incredulous. It's my favorite Christmas movie and it brings back good memories.

Where's Eddie?  He usually eats these goddamn things.

Always wish they would've kept the original Audrey for all the movies, she and Beverly D. gave me many mother/daughter imaginary threesomes.

She looked like she was 12 in the original movie?

I'll take the Vegas Audrey.

Tis the season to be merry.

Well that's my name.

No shit?

"Surprised, Eddie?... If I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn't be more surprised."

"Bend over and I'll show you."

About once a year I get set up to use this line.  It always makes my day.

My nephew was a production aide on the crew of this movie. He said Chevy Chase was the only Hollywood actor who ever behaved like an asshole towards him.

Nicest actor was Paul Newman who shared his lunch sandwiches with nephew and other office staff on breaks while filming Blaze in 1989. Co-star Lolita Davidovich treated nephew sweetly like her little virginal brother (he was a shy kinda nerd)... smothered him with sisterly kisses at the wrap party. Wish I had pics.

Yeah Chevy is well known as a dickhead. Still can't take away my enjoyment of this movie.

Had no idea until this years watching that Rusty in this one is Leonard in Big Bang Theory.

Wait. That means she was like 31 in Vegas Vacation.

Edit: Never kind. Too many Audreys.

Well, I was 14 in 1983, and she gave me the feels.

Ok, that makes more sense. At least you weren't going Euro Vacation Audrey.

Grace? She passed away 30 years ago!

I pledge allegiance, to the flag.....

Oh the Crunch enhancer? Yeah it's a non-nutritive cereal varnish. It's semi-permiable. It's not osmotic. What it does is it coats and seals the flake, prevents the milk from penetrating it.

I think it was financially irresponsible for Clark to put in a pool, if the difference between the check bouncing and them going broke was a Christmas bonus. Did he really have nothing in savings?

He must have manure for brains.

i have a bigger problem with the pool design.  and why did the pool company give him a model of it?  he couldn't envision a fucking square with a diving board?

Butters.... G dammit.

Taking kiddos to Flix Brewhouse on the 17th for their introduction to this classic. Older one's name is Audrey, at least partially inspired by the Vacation series. Can't wait!

So did she have to bang Chevy or Dennis Quaid to get the Audrey role?

Ellen:
What are you looking at?

Clark:
Oh, the silent majesty of a winter's morn... the clean, cool chill of the holiday air... an asshole in his bathrobe, emptying a chemical toilet into my sewer...

My favorite scene in the movie is unspoken.
Clark and Eddie are grocery shopping, it’s implied that Clark’s probably picking up the tab. Eddie puts a couple bags of dog food in the cart, a few feet down the aisle Clark puts a box of light bulbs on top of the dog food. Another few feet and Eddie throws another bag of dog food on top, completely smashing the light bulbs. Clark doesn’t say a word.

Yes! The fact they were all 40-50lb bags were great too.

If only I had the money back that we sent to the tv preacher that was screwing the hockey players.

What about the kids?

Well his kids can fend for themselves...

Grace? She passed away 30 years ago.

They want you to say Grace. (pause) The BLESS-ing!

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. And to the Republic for which it stands (Eddie stands up), one nation under God, with liberty and justice for all.

Amen. Amen.
